JIC6 - Jazzy Inspirations Challenge #6 - Miss You

Just another first for me...
This is my first time playing with one of Jazzy's challenges. The colors are fab and I really wanted to use these paper flowers my friend Dani sent me from Canada. I stacked the colors for a rainbow effect - border. I just adore this ribbon, it's pink with orange dots on one side and these little hour glass patterns on the other. Again, my Spicas give color as well as glitz.

sfytt_022809 - sketch for you to try - imagine

Hi! I just found this sketch challenge on Jen del Muro's website i{heart}2stamp. It's looked pretty cool, so I played along. Not only is the sketch fun, but Jen is running a giveaway too!!! So pop over and check it out.
Now to my card...
I used an image from PollyCraft for my focal point. Yes PollyCraft is a UK company but you can still download some images from them here in the U.S. They really do have some sweet images too! I used Milly the Fairy Fairy. I just love this little girl, she's too cute!

I colored Milly iwht my Spicas and backed her with Stampin' Up! Baha Breeze. Then I popped her up with dimensionals. Behind that I used SEI pattern paper. My three edgers are sooo much fun to play with! I think they are by far the best new-ish inventions for the papercrafting industry.
Ingredients: PollyCraft Downloads, Prima - florals, Spicas, SEI - Black Orchid pp, Martha Stewart - edgers, Stampin' Up! - edger & cs

MFTSC69 - Happy Birthday

I was asked by an on line friend to make a card for her husband's birthday. I was stumped. Then I saw the sketch Cindy Haffner posted for My Favorite Things challenge 69 this week and I thought, "I can do it!" Now I find everything Cindy does inspires me. But I gotta tell you, my MOJO has really been off this week. Maybe it's because I have a lot on my plate right now. But I just had to give this a whirl.

The butterflies are from Stickopotamus.

ICSketch#4 - Forever

Inspirational Card Sketches Challenge #4 This is the first time I've played with one of their sketches and it really was both inspirational and fun!
I used some products from one of my past Keep In Touch kits and some pp I had been keeping for Christmas. But I decided to crack it out and I just love this pp! That bird looking up at the sentiment is sooo pretty. Some of the pieces I put together for the flowers are from Prima's Artful Collage Flowers, some cs I punched and then used decorative edge scissors on. The pp is Daisyd's Sis Boom. I'm not sure where the cs is from, may be Bazzill. I really like the way this card turned out. Hope you do too.

pcpcuttlebug13 - Dream, Believe, Hope

PaperCraftPlanet Cuttlebug Challenge #13 Here's the gist of the challenge: it’s a technique called Layered Embossing. What you’ll need to do is run your cardstock through your CB using any folder that you like (I used the Swiss Dots folder). Then distress with any color ink you like (Color Box Sky Blue was my choice). Once that has dried, you’ll need to go over the embossed area with your bone folder to flatten it out. Once your cardstock is flat again, you’ll still be able to see the design from being inked. Now you need to run it through your CB again using a different folder ( I used one of the floral edges) . Once you’ve done that, you’ll need to distress the embossed image in a different color of ink (my choices were Color Box Rouge & Brilliant Purple). I then took it one step further and used the fancy butterfly folder and more Brilliant Purple. You can then cut down your image and add it to your project. That’s all there is to it! I added an Imaginisce blue with white polka dot ribbon and some paper flower with a little Marigold Shimmerz painted on some of the petals. I also added this gorgeous butterfly from a Keep In Touch Kit.

csdeanneburtonfeb09 - Congratulations!

This is a late post for me. Hubs and I left home about 2:30 this afternoon and didn't get back home until after 8 p.m. We watched The Amazing Race (we DVR'd it). Then we watched a pre-recorded episode of Leverage. Then hubs got on the computer while I watched a recorded The Good Witch's Garden. After which I joined him in the computer/my craft room. :-)
Where I created this card for Deanne's Couple of extra sketches for LUCKY Friday the 13th .

It was such a neat sketch! I really enjoyed playing with it.

LSPC03 - Best Wishes

Little Paper Shop Sketch Challenge #03

To create my BEST WISHES card; first I stamped my image with Marvy Lt. Blue and heat embossed. Then I overstamped it again with Color Box Sky Blue and heat embossed again. The birds are glossy and it gives them a little bit of a raised shadow effect (not so easy to see in the photo). Then I used the Sky Blue ink pad and smudged ink over the entire piece. Once I was done smudging, I took a piece of tissue and removed the excess on the birds. I cut them out and mounted them on a piece of Bazzill. I also stamped my sentiment cs with the Marvy ink and then heat embossed. I took the Bazzill through the Cuttlebug with the tag die and backed my sentiment piece. The sentiment is another one of those fun JustRite Stampers. The die cut floral is from K & Co. The blue cs is from Creative Memories. Thanks for looking.

Chesteen Book

Helloooo!
The other day I was prowling blogs again and I happened to come across THIS article and THIS image on Taylor VanBruggen's blog Taylored Expressions. Since hub's cousin is getting married in April I thought I'd give this a whirl. Below is my "Chesteen" book. Okay, Taylor, how'd I do???

Ingredients: 7 Gypsies (book), Cricut (Sampler Cartridge), Petaloo (Flora Doodles), various pp, stickers, ribbons, Basic Grey (fibers), Me & My Big Ideas (Alpha Stickers)
We aren't going to make the wedding. The couple is getting married on a cruise ship and then departing on a 7 day cruise. So I will deliver my gift to the bride later this month and she will have it for her shower in March. Best Wishes & Congratulations Ashley & Jeremy!!!

PaperPlay Challenges 09 - Week 5 - Monochromatic

Hello!
Thanks for stopping in. I just uploaded this card. I love it a lot more in person than in photo. The stamped image is a lot prettier when you hold it in your hand, the photo doesn't do it justice.
The image had no name on it, but from the sticker price it looks like it could have come from Hobby Lobby or Michaels. My cardstock is white orange peel texture from Bazzill and a black corrugated cs. The pp is gorgeous! It has these little black dots on it that seem to be raised and embossed. The black rick rack is adhered behind the image and wraps around the back of the card to tie on the side. The ribbon and pp both came from a Scarlet Lime kit.

MSTC30 - Get Well Soon

Mercy's Tuesday Sketch #30

This one was a challenge and I am still not sure it qualifies as Mercy's sketch is a complete circle and mine has a straight side for a hinge. The embellies are all little buttons and fabric flowers my hubs picked up for me while he was browsing a little shop in Decatur, TX.

CUTTLEBUG: I used a technique I saw demonstrated somewhere on the web to create my embossed tag. I used a little piece of foam core about 1/8 of an inch smaller than my tag. I stamped my sentiment on my tag, let it dry. Then I took and adhered the tag to the piece of foam core. I put 1 B plate on top of the A plate. Then I put my tag on the bottom B plate. Next I placed my tan mat over my tag. Then I placed the other B plate on top of that. Then I layered a few pieces of cardstock and ran it all through the Cuttlebug. Voila!

MOJO MONDAY #73 - Happy Birthday, Sweetie

Hello:
Man, it took me a long time to get started today and I have only created one card so far. Maybe this evening I can get a little more crafting done.
I received some fun stuff in the mail today and used some of it on my card. The stamp and nesties came in the package! I have been waiting a little while for this package to arrive because TreeHouse Stamps was blacked out and snowed in for a while. As soon as Ashley could, she filled orders and mailed them out. Thanks Ashley!!!
I started this card pretty much the way I start all of my cards, with a white cs. I layered the red Christmas - Checking It Twice pp first with the Jack and Jill pp next. Then I used my Nestie to cut my tags from three different papers. I stamped my image on the white cs and used dimensionals to pop it all up. I colored my image with Spicas and I used rhinestones to dress it up.
Ingredients: Spicas, American Crafts, Piggy Tales,Imaginisce, Kaiser, JustRite Stampers

My Pitcher and Bowl ...

Since we bought our little washstand back in April 08 I have been looking for a bowl and pitcher to place on top. Well, Sunday Mike and I took a road trip to Wichita Falls, TX. Along the way we stopped outside of Decatur at a little road side antique place. Now the colors in the guest room are chocolate, hot pink and a pale tourquoise. Here's what we found and the pictures don't do the set justice! Also, it looks a lot better after hub's cleaned it! It's Staffordshire of England.

Hello!

It's late, I've only been home for about 1 1/2 hours and I managed to crank out two cards. This is the first one and the second is in the post above.

I worked on this one with this stamp in mind. So, it being an Irish (Celtic) Cross I just had to go green! I also LOVE these pp from JilliBean-Soup and Basic Grey! I grouped them with this pp from American Crafts. The flowers are Prima and Imaginisce. Brads are from Doodlebug.

Card created for the challenge at SplitCoastStampers.

Mercy's Tuesday Sketch Challenge #29 - I found Mercy's blog quite by accident and fell in love with this sketch. I just HAD to play along. I stamped my image on white cs and used both Spicas and Copics to color it in. I used a piece of pink with black polka dot fabric in place of ribbon as one of my elements. I'm really pleased with it.

I went all out on this one and even stamped and embellished the inside. The sentiment stamp is from Sweet N' Sassy Stamps. The flower stamp is from Rachelle Anne Miller. Ingredients:

This is my version of part 2 of Deanne's 'Just Sketches' Feb. sketch challenges.

I believe this is from the House Mouse collection. But it was in my friend's box with no name on it. I just loved it. Makes me think of summer, and believe me, we need to think of summer when it's about 39 degrees F outside.

CBC53 - I*heart* 2 Dance! & My *bitties*

Chrissy's Belli Challenges#53
This one is a scrapper's dream come true. I found every single little scrap and pulled this together. The stamp is a no name. I used a piece of chipboard from a K & Co. sticker package because the colors worked. The only label I can give you on this is Imaginisce flowers. The sentiment is put together with stickers, pp and a Just Rite Stampers stamp.
BITTIES
These I call my "bitties". They came in a card kit from Keep In Touch. I love them because they are perfect for adding to a gift. Just add a little paper or stamped image and voila!

Sketch This Challenge #77 - Happy Birthday

I started this off with a blank watercolor postcard. I used my chalks to give my background a little sky color without being too heavy handed. I stamped the hummingbirds separately and cut them out. Then using dimensionals I popped them up. The flower branch is a rub-on that I colored with both water color pencils and Spica. Then I cut it out as well and laid it flat onto my sky background.

Then I took the swirlie, which started out brown and I sanded it down to the white and colored it with my Copic marker. The sentiment came from an old card. I know my blue flower doesn't quite match the other blues but it has the pink in it so...

Here's the inside, these are stickers and the swirlie is a rub - on.

INGREDIENTS: Pink Paisley, K & Co, Thiskers, Basic Grey, Jenni Bowlin, Copics, Spicas

RAK from Gilly across the pond!

Thanks sooo much Gilly!!! I love this card and Thank you for "Thinking of Me".
Gilly and I belong to a card making group on Yahoo (Card_Crafts@yahoogroups.com). I had recently had surgery (Dec.) and *hubs* had bought me tulips as a "Get Well" gift. When they died, about a week later and I threw them out, I forgot to take a picture. Gilly made this sweet card for me so I could remember my tulips.
We meet people on the Internet every day. They never know the impact they make on our lives. And we never know the impact we make in theirs. Muwaaa Gilly my sweet friend.

Then I cut and adhered the grid pp to the silver cs. Lastly I cut and adhered the X O pp onto a piece of silver cs.
