It's in the Box

Recently while feeding my Pinterest addiction I stumbled across Crafty Card Creations. Ru Lochlea is a very talented person. The 3D gems they create are stunning little shadow boxes if you will. Open ended.  I fell in love with the designs and style of it all. I had to give it a go on my own.
But I give all the inspiration credit to Crafty Card Creations.

The two pictures below are of the same card.
The first one the light was placed over the top.

The one below has the light behind.

To create my version I cut a piece of 8.5" x 11" cardstock down to 11" x 5.5".
Then using the Top Note die I cut the window. I used a Christmas Tree punch and punched out 3 trees. Then I cut 3 pieces of cardstock in hills and valleys to make my snow. I punched a star and a snowflake from Stampin' Up! punches. I scored my box at 1/2", 1", 5", 5 1/2", 6", 10" and 10 1/2". Fold all the score lines to make your open ended box with the window in the front. Set aside.
Edge all your pieces to be inserted into your box with Stickles. Set aside to dry.
When the Stickles are dry adhere the right side of your box closed. With dimensional adhesives attach your pieces to the inside of the box. I started with my first snow hill and put just 2 dimensionals on the very bottom corners. Then I progressively went to the back only using 2 dimensionals for each piece I inserted into my scene. I attached the little star to the snowflake with another dimensional and another dimensional holds it to the inside back of my box.

I hope you enjoy my Window/Shadow Box.
