Deepest Sympathies

Today's card is a sympathy card. It's always a hard card to make, but most especially when it it for a friend whose child has passed. No matter what age they are when a child passes it is hardest to imagine. Recently a high school classmate's daughter passed away. She was only 19. A  brilliant, beautiful girl, taken too soon. My heart and prayers go out to my classmate and his family.

Below is my card.

All of the stamps used on this card are from Close to my Heart #D1199 Come unto Me

My card takes a full 8.5 x 11 inch sheet of black cardstock cut in half at 5.50, and one piece cut at 5.50 x 3 inches. Score & fold one half piece of carsstock at 4.25 inches and set it aside. Then score and fold the other half at 2 inches, 5 inches and 7 inches. Mountain/Valley fold this piece of cs. Score and fold the 5.50 x 3 inch piece in half at 1.50 inches.

Assembly is pretty simple at this point. Take the 5.50 x 3 inch piece of cs and adhere 1.50 inch flap to the back of the base card (5.50 inches x 8.50 inches) leaving the other flap free. Adhere that free flap to the other 5.50 x 4.25 piece of carstock, joining them as one long base of 22 inches x 5.50 inches. Now you can stamp and decorate as you wish.

Curtain Call Plush & Plaid

I think I got this!

This is my card for the challenge at Curtain Call. Stacey always has something fun up her sleeve. I loved this challenge. I used the papers and embellies from My Mind's Eye Sleigh Ride. I was bowled over by the papers in this pack. It SCREAMS Christmas to me! 

If you like plaid give it a go. If you don't like plaid then maybe this challenge is the one to change your thoughts on it. Anyhoo, it's fun!

Play Day

Just another play day with my gal pals; Deb and Lorna. 

We all take turns designing a card. The first card is designed by Deb. We LOVE birds!!!

I had some issues with this one as I tip toed over the stamp with markers and I didn't get very good coverage. My stamped image was spotty at best. So I then had to go in and add color and lines. 

In the end I was pleased with the way it turned out.

This card is a CAS I CASED from Leah's Cards. I watched her video and copied her card.

 This one is another card designed by Deb. I love this new stamp from Stampin' Up! Right now the name escapes me. But I really enjoyed coloring the flowers. If you have any questions about this stamp you can contact Deb at debsegler@gmail.com . Deb is my Stampin' Up! demonstrator.

We had a really fun day. I am truly blessed to have these two ladies in my life. I love them so much.

Easel Card JFF

I just finished this one and it is 1:20 a.m. I think I started it at 11:00 p.m. LOL
Thanks sooo much to my friend Laurel Kingston Kerr for die cutting all the elements and shipping them to me from Australia. It sure was a challenge Loz trying to get it all put together and I am asking your opinion on how it turned out. Personally, I'm thrilled with it!
This is a triple easel card and I think Pam Sparks for her tutorial on how to put the easel base together.

Now my crafty friends I am off to bed. Nigh Nigh.
