Blue Jay

This is a blue jay stamp that I borrowed from my friend Deb.

This is my interpretation of the stamp. I stamped on regular white cs. Then I colored with Copics. When I had completed the coloring with Copics I added white gel pen to make the snow on the branches. Then I used a dauber and shaded in the edges.

Then I used my Versa Mark pen and wet the entire bird, sprinkled SU! Irredescent embossing powder on it and heated it up. This was so the bird would look wet in the winter snow. I added stickles to make my snowflakes.

This is my completed card. Hope you like it!

Merry Christmas 2013

Last week, my gal pals and I got together for our annual Christmas shindig at my friend Deb's house. We ate, we drank sodas and coffee and we generally got Merry!

We exchanged gifts and we made cards. Below are the cards I made that day.

#1 Is a Christmas card I made for Deb. It was a lovely flat dsp. But add some stickles and some glittery stickers and a hand stamped and hand colored red bird and it just takes on that "Christmas" spirit!

#2 is a Christmas card I made for my friend Lorna. Island Indigo has long been a favorite color cs for me. Mix it with silver, a snowflake embossing folder, a blingy snowflake sticker and some stickles and voila! a wintery Christmas card!

#3 is a mishmash of cards I made that day. The reindeer and Santa cards were my own creations. The Snowman and the ornament were designed by Lorna and the 3 little mice was designed by Deb.

#4 Is another mishmash of cards.
The cream and pink card was designed by me. The other 3 are designed by my other friend Debbie A.

That was such a F U N day! We laughed and enjoyed each others company and shared our own Christmas spirit with one another.

Merry Christmas Y'all!

Happy Birthday

Just realized how long it had been since I posted anything on my blog. Sorry followers. I have been busy with prep for Christmas.

I have an aunt on hub's side that has a birthday on December 30 which happens to be my and hub's 36 anniversary. In all the cards I have in my collection I didn't see anything that I liked well enough to send to Dear Aunt Selma. So I whipped this one up. I added some Ranger liquid pearls to the rose patterned paper. I cut 3 pieces of the double sided cs in 2 inch squares then added a little glue runner and  piece of twine for the wick, rolled them into candles. Tied them together in a bundle with more twine and voila, birthday candles. The sentiment is from Unity Stamp Co's everything amazing set. I think the sentiment fits Aunt Selma to a T.
