More Christmas

This card just came together in my mind. Then I quickly got it together in real life. It actually worked better than planned. The dsp is from The Paper Studio - There's No Place Like Home for the Holidays paper pack. I cut it 4 1/8" x 5 3/8". Then I used distress ink and inked it up. Set that aside. Then I stamped my bird  and pine images from Craftwork Cards Clear Stamps - Christmas Cheer. The sentiment is from Flourishes - Country Time Christmas. The bird was colored with color pencils and I layered over it some Wink of Stella clear.

I'm not positive but I believe this sentiment is from Unity Stamp Co.

I am working hard to get all my Christmas cards made before December 1, 2016!
I hope I get them all done.

Please COMMENT on my creations. I work hard. Lots of people visit but only a select 2 or 3 ever comment. I appreciate those folks so much. But it would be nice to hear from others as well. If you like what you see, please let me know. Even if you don't like what you see, comment. I can take the criticism.

Stampin' Up! Botanical Builder Framelits

Ever since I laid my eyes on this set of framelits from Stampin' Up! I can't get enough of them!!!
Below are just a few of the cards I have made with this set.
The first card is for a friend's baby girl. I stuck with the pale pinks and a sort of peach with an accent of pistachio green. The card has since arrived at its destination and Mommy just loved it!

The card below I just made for fun. But it just goes to show you can do sooo much with this set.

Like monochromatic???
Then give this a try!!!

Add that little pleated curtain effect to the die cut pieces and watch the magic happen!!!

I'm quite pleased with this production. :-)

Below is the inspiration piece for the challnge.

Play Date with D & L

The first card you see below is actually the last one I made on our play date. But I am falling hard for Brushos. This card has heavy and light sprinkles of brushos in Turquoise and Purple. The background I sprinkled heavily the Brusho powders and spritzed with water. Then the flowers were done on a separate piece of cs, lightly sprinkled with Brushos then spritzed. The stems and leaves are from my SU Build a Bird punch. I just used Rangers liquid pearls to add the veins.

The next two cards were designed by Lorna on the left and Deb on the right.
Believe it or not, Lorna little patchwork pinwheel is made up of little squares! So cute!
Deb's card was created using dies, papers and stamps from a kit she brought along for us to play with. Love both of these cards!

The next two cards were designed by Lorna on the left and me on the right. Lorna used Stampin' Up! stamps and inks to create this super spring look! We added Wink of Stella to the flower petals and little rhinestones to some of the flower centers.
The card I designed was really quite simple. I used a deep plum colored cs as my base. Then with scraps I started making little pendants in varying sizes and matted them with contrasting colors. I used a piece of white twine to make my string. Added a few rhinestones colored with Sharpies to give a little flash. The sentiment is stamped with Versa Mark and heat embossed in white. The stamp is from SU! stamp set Feel Goods.

I love these gals so much. They pick me up when I'm down. They make me laugh. They inspire me. They love me unconditionally. Life is good!

Happy as a bird

Today I'll be as happy as a bird with a french fry. Unity SOTW.
This card was created for the Tuesday Morning Challenge. I started off the a piece of watercolor paper. Then I spritzed it with Tim Holtz Distress Spray Stain in Peacock Feathers. I got a little heavy handed, but once it was dry I loved the effect. I then wrapped a piece of yellow and clear dotted washi tape around one end. Then cut and placed a piece of pink satin ribbon over that. Then I stamped my Unity stamp on whisper white cs. I colored with my Prisma watercolor pencils. I die cut using SU! Framelits dies. Added a little fuzzy ball and bead charm and stamped the sentiment. Matted that onto a piece of Chartreuse cs. Called this one down!

If you like this card layout and would like to try your hand at the sketch, pop on over to Tuesday Morning Challenges and give it a go! Click HERE.

Play Day

Just another play day with my gal pals; Deb and Lorna.
We all take turns designing a card. The first card is designed by Deb. We LOVE birds!!!
I had some issues with this one as I tip toed over the stamp with markers and I didn't get very good coverage. My stamped image was spotty at best. So I then had to go in and add color and lines.
In the end I was pleased with the way it turned out.

This card is a CAS I CASED from Leah's Cards. I watched her video and copied her card.
This one is another card designed by Deb. I love this new stamp from Stampin' Up! Right now the name escapes me. But I really enjoyed coloring the flowers. If you have any questions about this stamp you can contact Deb at debsegler@gmail.com . Deb is my Stampin' Up! demonstrator.
We had a really fun day. I am truly blessed to have these two ladies in my life. I love them so much.

Have a great day.

JFF

Another fun play date with my gal Deb. She bought these fabulous dies by Elizabeth Craft Designs and we just had to play with them today!!!

The first one is poles with little banner hanging. Too cute!

The second one is a park bench and I have to say, I liked making both but my fav is the park bench.

We did manage to get a couple other cards made as well but I didn't get pix of them.

Below is my happy buddy, Seamus Bobby MaGee. He had just gotten back from the groomers and was looking too handsome NOT to share.

Blue Jay

This is a blue jay stamp that I borrowed from my friend Deb.

This is my interpretation of the stamp. I stamped on regular white cs. Then I colored with Copics. When I had completed the coloring with Copics I added white gel pen to make the snow on the branches. Then I used a dauber and shaded in the edges.

Then I used my Versa Mark pen and wet the entire bird, sprinkled SU! Irredescent embossing powder on it and heated it up. This was so the bird would look wet in the winter snow. I added stickles to make my snowflakes.

This is my completed card. Hope you like it!

USC OctNov

Unity Stamp Co monthly Challenge - October/November. Color Combo and/or sketch.
I used both the color combo and the sketch. Love the way this turned out. Let me just say, I stamped that precious little birdie 3 times before I finally got it right. NO it was NOT the stamp. You see I kept trying to die cut the little birdie image while my ink was still wet. Let's just say, it was not pretty and just when I was about to give up, I pulled out my handy dandy heat gun!!! So, all I can tell you is to Never Give UP!

The stamp and sentiment are of course from Unity Stamp Co - it's a stamp of the week WIB - 417 - Frosty Mornings & Lots of Snow - Bird. All the dsps are from Cosmo Cricket's Mini Deck : Parquet Miniature. All of the papers in this pack match the challenge colors perfectly!!!

So if you want to play along, make your way to Unity Stamp Co and Be Inspired.

DD51

Dynamic Duos #51 - daffodil delight and baja breeze. Also entering this one in the CASology challenge to use hexagons.

I really love my honey comb ef from Stampin' Up! I think it works on so many levels. Who says it has to be bees all the time? Not me! I went with some chipboard stickers from Pink Paislee and My Minds Eye. I incorporated my build a bird punch. Clean And Simple baby! That's what it's all about!

DD48

Today I felt well enough to play. So here's a little something for the Dynamic Duos Challenge using light blue and deep orange color combo. The stamps are an old set from Stampin' Up! The dsp is also Stampin' Up! Cardstock is American Crafts. The bling is Cloud 9. Die is from Spellbinders. I used the Top Note die to cut the main panel. The image was colored with Copics.

I have to say, at first I didn't think I was going to like this color combo. But in the end it "worked" for me!

DD47

Dynamic Duos _ Pool Party & Cherry Cobbler.
I can't accomplish much with, not being able to sit for long in my craft chair. But if I can print images and bring them to my cushy comfy chair in the living room, I can color them and then quickly cut cs and stamp a few images to complete a project. So that's pretty much what you have here. Except that my friend Deb printed the images for me. I did the coloring and cutting and punching myself. It's cute but I am not sure it works for this color palette. But hey, I'm throwing it out there anyway.

From Punch to Emboss

Hi there!

Since I've been down with my back my creative wheels have been spinning but not much is happening. So tonight I decided to make something that I could sit anywhere and create as long as I have cs, a punch and my Big Shot I can do it!!!

First I chose the punch I wanted to use along with the cs. Since I was in the mind of a sympathy card I chose Crumb Cake. I cut one piece of 8.5x11 inch cs. down to 4.125x11 inches. With the other half of my cs I cut a piece at 3.75x5 inches.
The smaller piece is what I used as my focal point. Out of scrap cs (color doesn't matter as you will not be able to see it when the card is completed) I began with punching 2 of the birds and 2 of the birds wings.
Then I punched 6 of the branches.
I arranged the pieces on the cs in a design that was pleasing to the eye. Then I adhered them down with my snail adhesives. Then I flipped up the first tab on my platform, placed that piece of cs face (punched pieces ) down in my Big Shot with a rubber matte on top then both of my plates. I ran it through the machine a few times. When I removed it from the machine I had a perfectly embossed bird sitting on my branches.
You can see the finished project below. To make my card blank I simply slipped my cs into my Wood EF and ran it through my machine. I attached the smaller focal piece to my blank with dimensional adhesives, only after stamping my sentiment in Early Espresso.

Paper Players #136 and Little Tangles #8 - Paper Players is a color combo - Regal Rose, Pool Party, Lucky Limeade and Early Espresso. Little Tangles Challenge is "Anything Goes". For my card I chose to use Stampin' Up! products from my markers to may cardstock. Even my piercing pattern and tools. The only two things on my card that are not SU are the dsp and the lime green cardstock.

Love this color palette and the chance to throw my own LO out there was fun too!

I Spy a Color Throwdown

Today's card was created using 2 challenges for inspiration - I Spy Sketch Challenge #11 and Color Throwdown #187 - green, yellow, brown and lavender.

Seems I am always apologizing for my photos. I am on the hunt for a white box to photograph my cards in. I hope that will help me. Using 12 x 12 sheets of white cardstock in a triangle are not working.

Thanks for looking.

ColourQ

ColourQ127 -- this is my first time playing along with the ColourQ. I just really played because the colors spoke to me - Calypso Coral, Blushing Bride, Chocolate Chip, Certainly Celery and White. I think part of the reason it spoke to me was because I had this cute little paper stack with these awesome colors featured on every sheet. So I used my Stampin' Up! punches and punched 3 branches with the Bird Builder punch. Using the same punch I punched the little birds and their feathers. Then with the Cupcake Builder punch I used the frosting part of the cupcake for my clouds. Added a couple of pearls and a little Early Espresso ink to make the eyes. Stamped my sentiment and called it a day. Now I am off to bed. Night folks!

love - ICS106

All dsp is from Stampin' Up! Play Date collection as are the little stickers. The bird over the ribbon is one of Stampin' Up!'s punches, when you purchase this punch you can use it to punch the bird, it's wing and a branch. For my card I punched two birds and layered one on top of the other with dimentional adhesives. Then I punched the wing out of some of the dsp and layered it with another dimensional. I added a little copper pearl for the bird's eye. The sentiment is stamped in Basic Black ink. This card was created using the sketch at Inspirational Card Sketches for challenge #106.

wishing you joy - PPC-CC17

wishing you joy - Picture Perfect Crafty - Color Challenge #17 - early espresso, so saffron, cherry cobbler, and elegant eggplant. This week's challenge is sponsored by MelJen's Designs Digital Stamps. I didn't have any dark cherry cardstock so I did the best I could. The other colors were pretty easy to match up. My sentiment is a set of stamps from a card kit. The lovely birds are a stamp from Inkadinkadoo. They are colored with Permapaque and Copics.
