Freshly Made

Today I played with the sketch over at Freshly Made. This card was created for Challenge #180 -- using the sketch below. 

 To start off I tried something "NEW". Well at least it is new to me. Have YOU ever heard of Bister/Bitre??? YouTube has several tutorials on Bister. Just type Bister in the search bar at YouTube. You won't be sorry.

I hadn't until last week. You see I was just looking around on Pinterest for some new techniques I could try on my cards. I was getting into a rut and wanted to do something different. So when I stumbled across Bister I said, "I've got to get me some of that!" Then I immediately popped over to I Brake for Stamps and bought all 8 colors. Very reasonably priced!!! You get these 8 little pots. Mind you, a little goes a LONG way! On my card I used Red, Mahogany and Yellow Bister. Spritzed with clear water and sat back and watched the magic happen!!!

Once my Bister piece was dry I took a piece of my clear sheets from Stampin' Up! and stamped the large flower from the Nature's Perfection Sale-a-brations set in Versa Mark and heat embossed with white em powder. Then I trimmed around the bottom edges of the stamped flowers, so I would have that rounded effect that is on the FM sample.

I then stamped the Hello from SU! set My Friend in black ink on SU! dsp. Then I stamped the bird and its feet and feather from SU! Language of Friendship set in Versa Mark and heat embossed in white. Then I flicked in some real red with my marker. I assembled the bird and used dimensionals to attach it to the sentiment. Finished it off with some SU! twine and some beads from my stash. 

Then I called this one DONE!

ColorThrowDown

ColorThrowDown#336 -- For my card I used Crushed Curry, Pumpkin Pie, Dusty Durango and Pistachio Pudding. I started with a clean clear acrylic block and just smooshed the ink pad in descending order on to the block. If there was excess ink I simply wiped it away with a damp paper towel. Then smooshed the next color and so on. Before applying paper to ink, I spritzed with block with a little water. With the block on a flat surface I laid white cardstock to ink. Let sit until all of the color was absorbed. Using my heat tool, I dried the cardstock. Then I stamped the tree from SU! set Forever Young and the sentiment is from TPC Studios. The set is called Faith Friends. Using my SU! markers in Pistachio Pudding and Dusty Durango I colored the leaves and the flowers framing my sentiment. Using a white gel pen I highlighted the tree and swing.

The sentiment reads : May God look down from Heaven above and bless your day with peace and love. --Thena Smith

Curtain Call Pajama Party

Curtain Call Pajama Party - I started out with a set of stamps and just rolled with them. I used a punch for the banners and colored my images with markers. I hope Stacey's crew and the Cat's Pajamas Gang like it.

Fun in the New Year

Hubs gave me the new 25th Anniversary set of Copics for Christmas as per my Wish List request! So excited! I am really enjoying playing with them.

Fence scene is a printed RAK from my Friend Debbie A. and the flowers on the right are from a stamp set my friend Deb S. let me borrow.

I'm sorry I haven't been very vocal lately. I have two excuses... I got a bad cold before Thanksgiving that is still hanging on and the holidays just kept me busy, busy, busy!

Unity Stamp of the Week

Here's my card featuring the Unity Stamp Of The Week. Isn't it just the prettiest of fall images?!

I loved it as FALL is my favorite season!!!It's colored with Copics and Spectrum Noir markers.

The green doily... SU white paper doily, inked with H20 inks. While still fairly wet I added clear embossing powder and heated. I LOVE IT!!!!

One Layer--The Paper Players Challenge #142

I got up feeling better than I have in months! That said, I made this card on Weds. when my gal pal Deb came to visit. But It was lacking something. I had just stamped the image and added the punched leaves. It was flat and quite frankly "bleh". So this morning, feeling all chipper I decided to add some Ranger Liquid Pearls. I am lovin' it NOW!

So, my thought for you is, if ever you create something and you are not completely happy with it; WALK AWAY. Leave it. Go do something else. Then when you are of a fresh mind, go back and see what you can do to make it an "I LOVE IT" project.

Hope today you have a little "Spring" in your step!

Paper Players #136 and Little Tangles #8 - Paper Players is a color combo - Regal Rose, Pool Party, Lucky Limeade and Early Espresso. Little Tangles Challenge is "Anything Goes". For my card I chose to use Stampin' Up! products from my markers to may cardstock. Even my piercing pattern and tools. The only two things on my card that are not SU are the dsp and the lime green cardstock.

Love this color palette and the chance to throw my own LO out there was fun too!

Crazy 4 Challenges#149 - All White

These challenges always fascinate me. I love an all white card. I chose to play with my dies and cut some intricate patterns. My stamps are from Stampin' Up! Language of Friendship (both sentiment and the little bird). Check out the beautiful creations the DT has on display at

This card is entered in the sketch challenge at Freshly Made Sketches #47. It's a nice sketch. I seem to have a hard time with their theme of "Fresh" though. I think I always overdo. I have to learn less is more. Anyhoo, here's my card and below it is the sketch.

One Stop Craft Challenge #193 - FRIENDSHIP! I love this color combo. I may have to use it again.

For my card I used the chipboard (FRIEND) from Stampin' Up! Side Notes. I added some Daffodil Delight and Calypso Coral with my daubers. The cardstock used is Calypso Coral, Very Vanilla, Pumpkin Pie, and YoYo Yellow. The pearls are also Stampin' Up!

Freshly Made #43

Here's the sketch for week #43 at Freshly Made Sketches.

And here's my card. Last week I was gifted some dsps and I really fell for this particular pattern. So I played with it stamping my flowers onto the blue side with Island Indigo ink and heat embossed. I stamped the leaves on the other side with Old Olive and heat embossed. This is a really fun sketch and I totally loved playing with it!
