CCPnP

I think I got this!

This is my card for the challenge at Curtain Call. Stacey always has something fun up her sleeve. I loved this challenge. I used the papers and embellies from My Mind's Eye Sleigh Ride. I was bowled over by the papers in this pack. It SCREAMS Christmas to me!
If you like plaid give it a go. If you don't like plaid then maybe this challenge is the one to change your thoughts on it. Anyhoo, it's fun!

CMCC#86

Sorry for the long lapse in posts. I am hoping to get back into creating more cards as the holidays approach.
2015 has been a very rough year for me. As you may recall I had a (benign) tumor removed from my leg in October 2014. With the diabetes it is taking forever to get over this. Although the wound looks healed from the outside there is still a lot of trauma to the nerves in my leg. So I suffer with pain and often times what seems like RLS (restless leg syndrome).
In February my brother's wife (my sister in law) was killed in a freak motor cylcle accident. Then in June my husband's sister (another sister in law) died of cancer. Then in July my niece was 23 weeks pregnant when she developed a kidney stone and her baby had to be delivered too soon, little Izabella Rose passed on July 31. Aside from dealing with all of this, we got an Airedale puppy. WHAT WERE WE THINKING???
Fergus has been quite a challenge for two 50 something year olds who are not very active. We love him to bits but sometimes he is more than we can handle.
Ok nuff said. If you've made it this far Thank YOU for your time. Now!
On to my card for this week.

Colour Me...! Playful

I love this little bird from Stampin' Up! It's called Young Vermillion. Growing up in Louisiana I am quite familiar with the Vermillion River in a little town named Abbeville. In French, vermillion is a shade of red, very bright. Therefore I think it works for this Colour Me...! challenge. Below is the inspiration for the challenge.

SSC100

Above is my entry for the Challenge at Sunday Stamps #100. I chose purple, pink and orange for my color palette. I am quite pleased. I colored the flower from Chocolate Baroque's Fancy Flowers #UA5SP0422, the Sketched Hummingbird from Stampabilities and the sentiment from Reverse Confetti. The banners are from the Dear lizzy paper stack called Lucky Charm. I added a little shimmer to my hummingbird with Zazzles Blossom and Evergreen.

The sketch for the challenge is below.

Bister N Bleach

Hi There! Yes I am back with another Bister/Bitre piece. This card is 4 x 4 inches. I used Green and Yellow Bister. Then I stamped the bird, leaves and flowers with Staz-On black. Using a fine paint brush and a little bleach, I painted bleach onto the body of the bird, the leaves and the flowers. Then with my white gel pen I went back in and added some white  centers to my flowers and the bird's eye. I need to put a little black in his eye and it will be ready to turn into a greeting card.

Freshly Made

Today I played with the sketch over at Freshly Made. This card was created for Challenge #180 -- using the sketch below.
To start off I tried something "NEW". Well at least it is new to me. Have YOU ever heard of Bister/Bitre??? YouTube has several tutorials on Bister. Just type Bister in the search bar at YouTube. You won't be sorry.

I hadn't until last week. You see I was just looking around on Pinterest for some new techniques I could try on my cards. I was getting into a rut and wanted to do something different. So when I stumbled across Bister I said, "I've got to get me some of that!" Then I immediately popped over to I Brake for Stamps and bought all 8 colors. Very reasonably priced!!! You get these 8 little pots. Mind you, a little goes a LONG way! On my card I used Red, Mahogany and Yellow Bister. Spritzed with clear water and sat back and watched the magic happen!!!
Once my Bister piece was dry I took a piece of my clear sheets from Stampin' Up! and stamped the large flower from the Nature's Perfection Sale-a-brations set in Versa Mark and heat embossed with white em powder. Then I trimmed around the bottom edges of the stamped flowers, so I would have that rounded effect that is on the FM sample.
I then stamped the Hello from SU! set My Friend in black ink on SU! dsp. Then I stamped the bird and its feet and feather from SU! Language of Friendship set in Versa Mark and heat embossed in white. Then I flicked in some real red with my marker. I assembled the bird and used dimensionals to attach it to the sentiment. Finished it off with some SU! twine and some beads from my stash.
Then I called this one DONE!

FMS148

Here's a beautiful little FREE Birdie image from the AMAZINGLY, ARTISTICLY talented Susanne Rose! When I saw a mixed media project she'd created using this little one I knew I had to have her too! So Susanne sent me HERE to download her for FREE!

Now once I had that little file on my computer, I couldn't wait to get out my Prisma Color Pencils and start coloring. It's an easy image to color and I "flew" through the process!

Today I am featuring this little cutie on my creation for Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #148. Enjoy!

Just in case you'd like to play along with the sketch challenge at Freshly Made below is the sketch.

JFF in a week

Over the past couple of weeks I have had a U.T. Or Bladder infection and haven't felt my mojo working. So the fact that I created anything in that time period is amazing to say the least. Still I managed to crank out these beauties!

#1 My grandson, Zackary participated in a Geography Bee in his elementary school. He WON!!!
The very next day he had to compete in a written Bee for National Geographic! we participated in the bee the next day but we haven't gotten the results yet.

I received some new supplies in the mail last week and this and I did play a little while. Also, my wonderful hubs stopped in at Big Lot and bought me some marked down crafty items.

#2
In the card below, I used my Unity Stamp of the Week. I love these little rubber rain boots. They are just too cute! I stamped the image onto a polka dot dsp. Then I used Ranger Pearls and dotted the petals of the flowers on the boot stamp. Then I went over the entire image with my crystal effects.

#3
The card below was created using products from a kit I purchased from My Craft Channel.
Loved that little bird! The ribbons are from the goodies hubs bought me. The paper doily is from Stampin' Up!

#4
This one was created using some of the decorative CS my youngest daughter gave me for Christmas. The stamp is from Stampin' Up! I colored with Copics.

#5

This Geisha is from an old set but I lost the packaging so. I don't know who it is from. I started coloring with my Prisma Color Pencils.

Still coloring

Finished coloring and putting it all together.

Redbird Christmas

This was another Just For Fun card. I had seen something similar on Pinterest. But I don't have the same punches and embossing folders they used. So I did my own thing. I even added a little red shimmer paper from Stampin' Up! on my little bird's wing.

FMS93

Happy Saturday to you!
On Friday, I had a couple of my crafty gal pals over and we played all day! This morning I slept in and when I got up I started on this card using the Allisa's sketch from Freshly Made Sketches #93.

As you can see the sketch was very clean and simple. I jazzed my Inkadinkadoo stamped image up with some Ranger Pearls. The image was stamped with Ranger Archival Ink in Coffee. I used my Prisma Color Pencils to add the color. Hope you enjoyed the peep (pun intended) into my nest..

JFF58 Caged Bird

So this week I won an Ebay sale for Tim Holtz Caged Bird Die.I fell in love with a project I saw on someone's blog. However I am not going to show you that project today. Still working with the die I cut the cage from silver metal. Then I painted it with two coats of Ranger Patina in Antique Copper, letting it dry between coats. You can see the first coat going on below.

I cut the little bird and it's wing from 2 different dsp with the same pattern. I distressed them a little bit with Ranger Distress Ink in Walnut Stain. Added a little green rhinestone for an eye. Crystal Effects on the wing for some added dimension.

Above is the completed card. As you can see I was so excited with the finished project I couldn't even wait for the Crystal Effects to dry. :O)
The Dogwood branch and blossoms are from my friend's die. I mounted everything on Bashful Blue cs and distressed the edges. Then matted with Island Indigo.

CASE-ing Anne Kristine Holt

Sizzix Blogs - Anne Kristine Holt --

Today when I saw her post, my jaw dropped! So I set myself up to CASE her creation. Now Anne's is a tag and envelope. Mine is just a card. Did I say, "just"? Well, it's too beautiful a project to announce is at simply "just" anything. You be the judge.
Here is my card

Below I am showing off the lovely Stampin' Up! charms I've added to my project.

Below I am highlighting the lovely bird and charms along with the sweet fabric roses.

To begin my project I took Very Vanilla cs and spritzed it with alcohol mixed with Marina Mist and Island Indigo ink and some Frost White shimmer paint. Then I used a paint brush dipped in my inks and tapped all around the cs. I then cut that piece of cs down to 3 1/2" x 5 1/4". I distressed with edges with some Soft Suede ink. Then I used the 2nd to largest SU Labels Collection Framelit and cut the music dsp. Then I stamped with butterfly from SU Strength & Hope set (if you have a butterfly die, USE IT) and craft cut it out of the center of my music paper. I distressed the inner and outer edges of the music paper with more Soft Suede.

My base card blank is Very Vanilla and I distressed it as well with the same Soft Suede ink.

Bird was punched from the spritzed paper using SU Bird Builder punch and the leaves were punched from SU Blossom Builder punch. I put a piece of the Co'ordniations Early Espresso through my Big Shot with the Woodgrain EF, then I fussy cut it into a branch. The little blue flowers are NEW to Stampin' Up! They are item #126869 pg 5 in the new Seasonal Mini catty. They come in white. I used my Spritzer with the inks and spritzed til I had desired coverage. Love em!

The ribbons are from my stash.

CCCwS DT Call

Chrsitmas Challenges Blog DT Call entry.

For my card I chose to use a stamp I received as a Christmas gift from one of my stamping pals. It's from Close to My Heart (To You and Yours Seasons & Nature). It's a beautiful little bird and so easy to color with markers, watercolor pencils or even watercolor crayons.

I so enjoy playing these sketch challenges. They always make me use my brain to come up with something that fits the challenge.

Twisted RED

Hello once it again it is time for my Twisted Sketches Twisted Card assignment. I am not a real big Valentine's Day fan. Not that I haven't found my own true love, just that making cards for this holiday doesn't appeal to me that much. BUT, that said, I went out guns blazing on this one! The gate felt piece was adhered to a piece of very vanilla cardstock and then I trimmed away the excess. Added some pearls and little hearts cut and embossed with the Fashionable Hearts embosslit. All of that is adhered to a piece of Real Red cs.
Please join us at Twisted Sketches this week to play along with our sketch and our color challenge of RED!

Embossing powder - white
Stamps - Take it to Heart, Whimsical Words, Hope Happens
Charm - Trinket Hearts (in my kit)

Don't forget to check out my KIT offer. Hurry, it expires on February 4, 2012. Thanks

CupCardsToGo Challenge - faith

This card was made using my March CupCardsToGo kit except foe the cardstock and the sentiment. The challenge was submitted by Chrys Rose. Chrys' challenge - Make a card using storybook paper, lace and must include these 3 shapes: circle, square and triangle. I missed the part about the lace. I hope she'll allow my picket fence punched border as my lace. :O)
