Inspirational Card Sketches

Inspirational Card Sketches Challenge #154 and the cloud pattern from Van Laar Designs played rather well together. Or at least I think so. LOL

I printed the cloud and then flipped it. Sponged some Pool Party ink around the edges. Printed and cut another cloud on dsp for my shadow effect. I punched a large scalloped circle out of dsp and stamped and drew lines on it to respresent my sun. The hot air balloon is a flower petal punched from Build a Blossom punch. I added some twine for the ropes and a tiny square for the basket. The sentiment reads, The sky's the limit. Inside sentiment is Happy Birthday, wishing you a wonderful day.

Believer of true love

Love the way this one turned out! This card is entered into the Inspirational Card Sketches Challenge #149. The sketch was so cool looking that as soon as I saw it the wheels in my head started turning. All the dsp, cs, stamps, border punch and heart dies are from Stampin' Up! Oh, and yes that is more of that fantastic Twitterpated dsp! My sentiment reads: "a believer or our true love".

Flocked DSP --- Who says it's girlie?

Hi there! This is my entry for the Inspirational Card Sketches Challenge  #135 . Honestly, I totally love this DSP, Mocha Morning Specialty. It can run both feminine and masculine. I really love to play with the patterns and textures as well. The black/gray is flocked and it's FAB-U-LOUS! If you'd like to purchase any of this beautiful DSP you can get it RIGHT HERE!

ICS - a fond farewell

This is the Inspirational Card Sketches Sketch I chose to use for my creation...
Here's the card I created. I've used those F-A-B, dsps from Stampin' Up! Pocketful of Posies again!!! The base cardstock is Chocolate Chip. I've added a piece of the 5/8" white satin ribbon through the center. I've punched with the NEW Lace Ribbon Border and the Scallop Trim Border punches. My sentiment is a stamp and has been punched using both the Curly Label and the Decorative Label punches. I tied some SU twine and made a bow. Called it a card and now it's ready for a co-worker of my hub's who lost their beloved family dog yesterday.
This is my design for the Inspirational Card Sketches challenge - pick your own!

Old Fashioned Christmas - ICS113 & CCC22

Old Fashioned Christmas - I posted this card to 2 challenges - Inspirational Card Sketches #113 and Christmas Card Challenge #22. I must say, the troop at ICS sure did give me a challenge this week! This sketch, although it creates a beautiful pattern it is a challenge to cut all the pieces to fit. Still it was F U N! The Christmas Card Challenge was to use metal. I think I took a little artistic license with this one in that my "ribbon" accents are gold and I used a gold ink on the bells in my main image. I just wanted to say, that beautiful ribbon rose at the bottom right hand corner was HANDMADE by ME!!! I am so proud of that little accent. My SU pal, Deb Segler and I went to a SU retreat this past weekend and Amy (her last name excapes me ATM) showed us how to make these. She only showed us one time and today I made my first one!
Hope you enjoy my card and I hope the CCC folks can appreciate my take on the "metal" challenge. :O)

love - ICS106

All dsp is from Stampin' Up! Play Date collection as are the little stickers. The bird over the ribbon is one of Stampin' Up!'s punches, when you purchase this punch you can use it to punch the bird, it's wing and a branch. For my card I punched two birds and layered one on top of the other with dimentional adhesives. Then I punched the wing out of some of the dsp and layered it with another dimensional. I added a little copper pearl for the bird's eye. The sentiment is stamped in Basic Black ink. This card was created using the sketch at Inspirational Card Sketches for challenge #106.

just a note - ICS96 & PPC-CC

Ok, you may recognize this lovely little birdie. I think it's my new favorite stamp. Wings of Friendship is a RETIRED Stampin' Up! set. I stamped in Early Espresso and heat embossed. Then I used my ink pads in Tempting Turquoise, Tangerine Tango, and Always Artichoke with my aqua painter to color the image. I stamped the single flower from the same set in Only Orange then colored with the Tangerine Tango. The sheet music dp as is the flourish dp in the back. The ribbon dp is the flip side of the sheet music. I had some little punched tags and I stamped just a note from the All Year Cheer III set, then I distressed it with some Early Espresso ink.
This card was created using the color combo from Picture Perfect Creations - Color Combo#44 - Tempting Turquoise, Always Artichoke, Chocolate Chip (didn't have any so I used Early Espresso instead), and Tangerine Tango. It was designed using Inspirational Card Sketch#96. Both were interesting challenges for me. The colors, at first didn't look like they would play well together. Guess I was wrong. The sketch presented some problems when it came to punching the Acanthus Leaf border. But I think I worked it all out.

Joyeaux Noel - ICS91

Joyeaux Noel - Inspirational Card Sketches challenge #91. This is a fantastic sketch! I enjoyed creating with it. These dps from Stampin' Up! are beautiful and make a lovely winter style card. I stamped the sentiment with Versa Mark ink and then heat embossed silver powder. The ribbon is from my stash as are the snowflakes and silver cord.

Hey!
Seamus is sitting here saying, "Mom, could you take a break from making cards and play with me? PLEASE?" :O)
Now to my card for Inspirational Card Sketches Challenge #52. I love this image of Ian and I had colored it a while ago and just finally got around to using it on a card. He's just so darn cute! Anyhoo, pattern paper is from DCWV The Whimsy Stack. Tag and sentiment are stamps from Sweet `N Sassy Stamps. Ian is from The Greeting Farm. Border punches are both Martha Stewart. The bird and button on the tag are from American Crafts Details. Metal bits are from We R Memory Keepers. Ian is colored with Spicas and Copics.
