MOJO MONDAY 277

Hello! Welcome back.
Today's card was created using the sketch over at Verve's MoJo Monday Challenge #277. Really cute sketch this week. I love this little Geisha girl. I purchased her several years ago and every now and then I have to bring her out and play with her. Trouble is, I don't remember where I purchased her from.
I am hoping, you get the feel from the background of a Shoji screen. The stamp I used for that is called Quatrefold and it is from Stampabilities.

CTD222

ColorThrowDown #222 - Basic Black, Bashful Blue, Summer Sun, Pacific Point.

I chose to use the colors in a scene scape. I have been making Christmas cards since July so I thought today I'd do something not quite Christmas but still in the fall/winter phase. I am quite pleased with the way it turned out and I loved the color combo.

I Spy a Color Throwdown

Today's card was created using 2 challenges for inspiration - I Spy Sketch Challenge #11 and Color Throwdown #187 - green, yellow, brown and lavender.

Seems I am always apologizing for my photos. I am on the hunt for a white box to photograph my cards in. I hope that will help me. Using 12 x 12 sheets of white cardstock in a triangle are not working.

Thanks for looking.

4CCC--Metal

4CraftyChicksChallenge -- Metal. Thinking of You is the title and sentiment on my card. I just love these silhouette flowers from Stampin' Up! set Fabulous Florets. I stamped in Sahara Sand and Wisteria Wonder. My "METAL" element is aluminum foil run through my Big Shot with the Top Note Die and the Stripes ef. I punched the white with my Scallop Border punch and then I laced my ribbon through it and tied a bow at each end. Added some rhinestones to the flowers and called it a day.

Brayer Challenge!!!! - JFF

Hello!
Today I am going to offer you a challenge. Do you own a brayer? Don't know what to use it for? Well, I will show  you in this little "talk you though it" tutorial.
Below is my card.
Here's the deets:
Stampin' Up!
Cardstock: Whisper White, Basic Black
Stamps: Fresh Cuts, Whimiscal Words
Inks: Basic Black, Dusty Durango, Bermuda Bay
Stampin' Up Accessories: Build a Bird 2 Step Punch, Decorative Label Punch, Clear Embossing Powder, Two - Way Glue, Dimensional Adhesives, finger daubers
Tutorial:
Cut one piece of Whisper White cardstock 4 3/4" x 4 3/4" square.
Cut one piece of Basic Black cardstock 4 7/8" x 4 7/8" square.
Cut one piece of Whister White 5" x 11" and fold in half. Finished card will be 5" x 5".

1.In the Center of the 4 3/4" x 4 3/4" piece of Whisper White you will stamp the Fresh Cuts stamp in Basic Black and heat emboss with cleat embossing powder.
2. With a fresh finger dauber you will rub on the Bermuda Bay ink pad and then rub off on your embossed cardstock. Add as little or as much as you like. I went a little heavier around the edges and lighter in the center. Then heat emboss with clear embossing powder.
3. Open your Dusty Durango ink pad and ink up your brayer.
Brayer Dusty Durange from the upper right hand corner to the lower left hand corner on the diagonal. I slightly turned my cardstock so the corners were pointing north and south. TIP* once you start across the paper don't stop until your brayer runs out of ink.
4. Turn your cardstock to the right 2 times so the the opposite ends are pointing north and south. Ink up your brayer and apply to the cardstock. Continue until all ink is gone from your brayer. Look at your piece. Are you happy with the coverage? If not, repeat steps #3 & #4.
5. Take your Build a Bird punch and punch one bird and one wing.
Daube on some Bermuda Bay and Dusty Durango. Daube Dusty Durango to the wing. Adhere the wing with a dimensional adhesive. Set aside.
6. With the Build a Bird punch, punch 20 of the branches in Whisper White. With 2 way adhesive attach the branches to the cardstock to frame the image. Add your little bird with another dimensional adhesive.
7. Stamp the "Thoughts" sentiment with Basic Black on Whisper White cardstock. Daube Bermuda Bay. Then punch the sentiment out with the Decorative Label Punch, punching as close to the right side of the words as possible. This way you will have the excess to score and fold under. Daube Dusty Durango around the edges. Set is aside.
8. Attach your brayered image to the Basic Black square.
9. Attach the little bird to the brayered image.
10. Attach the sentiment with dimensional adhesives.
11. Attach the entire piece to your card base.
You're Done!!!

Now here's the challenge: Pull your brayer out of the drawer or packaging and dust it off and get to brayering. If you create a project using your brayer link it up to me and come back and add a DIRECT link in your comment.
I'll go visit and check out your project (because I am anxious to see what you create).
On Friday I will pick from the entries and I will give away a BRAND SPANKIN' NEW Stampin' Up! set.
Thanks so much for your interest and your comments. They help me trendously to keep on creating. I sure hope you liked my "talk you through it" tutorial. I am still not too good with the video thing yet. Besides, I mostly create by the seat of my pants so setting up the camera in advance doesn't always work out for me.

If you have any questions about the products used in this card creation please feel free to post them in your comments
.
Have a wonderful and I hope you get to brayering!

thinking of you - ICS72 & CTD99

thinking of you - Inspirational Card Sketches #72 and Color Throw Down #99 - cream, chocolate and turquoise. These colors really worked well with this sketch and each other. I started with a base of cream and added turquoise and chocolate mattes. I didn't have any dp with these colors so I made my own by cutting strips of chocolate, turquoise and cream. I adhered them to the chocolate cs with my Elmer's Glue Stick. I used some ribbon over cs stock as one of the elements of the sketch.
I used my aqua painter and my tempting turquoise to paint the hat and the water in my image. The image is from Stampin' Up! summer by the sea and the sentiment is also Stampin' Up! always in my thoughts. Ribbon and stick pin are from CupCardsToGo kits.
The Inspirational Card Sketch is sponsored by Debra ICSDT  this week challenge with this yummy candy below, it includes:
26 sheets of 6"x6" paper
30 ribbon roses
1 pack doodlebugs clear stamps
Thank you so much Debra.

Thinking of You - Card for Our Troops

Thinking of You - Cards for Our Troops Operation Write Home. Recently I joined a group of crafters from all over the country in creating cards for our troops to use to send to their loved ones back home. Part of my honor in being a member of this organization is to send a letter from home to any soldier. So I decided to add this card with my letter. I don't know who that soldier will be, but I am hoping my little digital image will make them smile knowing that we folks back home are thinking of them and wishing them a successful mission and a safe and speedy return home.
My image for this card was created by me, ZacksNana. I colored the image using PaintShopPro. I punched holes on either side of my tree and added eyelets to run my yellow ribbon through. There are stickers used to decorate my card from Pink Paislee's Made in the USA collection.
I am entering this in The Spotted Chick's That's Krafty Thursday #29 challenge to use kraft paper.

Thinking of You - JPDC4 Prize will be given away!!!

Thinking of You - Jazzy's Paper Designs Challenge #4. My card above and the inspiration below. Our assignment this week is to use this CD cover for inspiration. I got the colors right away and then the layout of the cover just really played a big part in laying out my card. I love punches and ribbons. So I incorporated them both in this creation. The base, and accent cardstocks are all from a Tuesday Morning's sale bin ($3.99). The pack of cardstock is called Mocha and it features 24 sheets of 12 x 12 patterned cardstock. The orange piece is from Stampin' Up! The sentiment is from Sweet `N Sassy Stamps and the circle frame is a stamp from Kaiser. I stamped them both in Stampabilities Black and heat embossed with clear embossing powder. I am lovin' the way my card turned out. Although I was looking for a "Deepest Sympathy" stamp. I know I have one, it's just to find the darn thing!

Please come and join in the fun at Jazzy's Paper Designs Challenge #4! This week my Co-Design Team Member Janice is sponsoring us and Janice will be awarding some lucky creator some nice BLOG CANDY! Also, at the end of the week, the DT votes on their favorite creation and that winner gets to be Jazz Cat of the Week and guest designer for the next challenge. So COME & PLAY, you could be a WINNER!
