Dragon Rain - ALASC3

Dragon Rain - Ah! La Carte #3 use their sketch  (they now have a Mr. Linky. Please play along. Thier challenges are really fun!). I loved this little dragon stamp I purchased from Sweet Pea Designs. The first thing I did was brayer the background - sky colors (Color Box sky blue, Hampton Art Stamps tourquoise, Close to my Heart outdoor denim in that order) and ground colors (Encore! Ultimate Metallic green, Color Box olive pastel, Color Box dark moss in that order). Then I stamped the dragon in Stampabilities black. Then I colored with Copics (yr07,e37,yg63,bv23,yg23). I used a black glitter gel pen from American Crafts to outline my image and my Signo white gel pen to add the rain drops. The lotus flower is from Basic Grey's All Natural set and was stamped 3 times in the 3 shades of green inks I used ont he background. Then I used black with the outline stamp. The Oriental elements all came from a RAK from my friend Danielle Brault-Charbonneau in Canada. The flourish is from American Crafts faux leather stickers (yellow I colored orange with my yr07 Copic marker).
*** This will be my last post before the end of the weekend. Going to enjoy some time with family. If you are traveling for the holiday, be safe! If you'r not traveling, be safe!
I hope you all have a truly wonderfully blessed Easter weekend.

happy anniversary - Ah! La Carte Le Sketch Challenge #2

Ah! La Carte - Le Sketch Challenge #2.
If you know anything about my cardmaking at all, you know I can hardly pass up a sketch challenge. :O) Well, I follow Ah! La Carte's Blog and when the notice came up they had updated I ran over to see what was new. I was happy to see a fun sketch I could play along with.
Pattern papers are from Pressed Petals OpenStock paper pack Mocha. I used my Top Note die to cut the grey piece of cardstock. Then I cut it in half. The lavender flower strip is one of three new Martha Stewart punches I received in today's mail. The grass and chicks are the other two. Now did I need to have the chicks on an anniversary card, you might ask. No, not really, but they are just so cute I wanted to use them too. The image is from SoftPencil and it is colored with Copics. It's matted on a piece of the green cardstock I cut using my new PEONY die from Spellbinders. I added three little buttons and a white paper daisie to the upper right hand corner. The happy anniversary sentiment is from There She Goes - Make a Wish stamp set (10-0091).
