There's a NEW challenge blog out there! It's called The Cutting Edge Challenge Blog. They are starting off with a Guest Designer Search. For my inspiration I chose the two cards on the right. It's quirky and I think it's FUN.

So, a funny thing happened last night AFTER I created this card. I went back to The Cutting Edge Challenge Blog to upload my card and realized I didn't use any die cuts. DUH! It isn't called "THE CUTTING EDGE" for no good reason. Hahaha! So this morning I got up and stamped and die cut these sweet little butterflies from Hero Arts.

If you decide to play along you have to use the image below as inspiration. And remember to add your die cuts!

CTD296

I'm sooo super duper excited! I am a Guest Designer on Color Throw Down. I just have to say, this is my most favorite challenge to participate in! Colors move me! I don't always get it exactly right but when I do I get pretty pleased with myself. I have to admit though, some of the color combos have just not been my cup of tea and so I sat those challenges out. But this week's colors are FABBY!
So without further adue here is the color combo for this week's Color Throw Down #296.

Don't you agree? FABBY right! Looks just like ice cream to me!

I'd like to Thank the Peeps @ Color Throw Down for this honor!

TPP199

The Paper Players Challenge #199 - For my card I chose the Land of the Free stamp from Stampin' Up! I haven't used it very much since I purchased it. But when I saw the color combo this week I just had to go for it!

I started with Whisper White base. Then I cut stripes from Real Red. I punched the stand for my flag out of Night of Navy with the 1" circle punch and then cut it in half. The pole is from Silver Shimmer Paper and the little stars are from my stash of embellishments.

I went with a patriotic theme for my card. But red, white and blue works for any occassion, any time of the year.

Camera Shutter Card

I was lurking on FB earlier and came across a post by Frenchie of Stamping and Scrapbooking with Frenchie that I fell in love with. Now I won't bother to give you all the dimensions because Frenchie has a video on her blog. So if you just click HERE you can watch her video.

Now without further ado below is my card.

This camera design is not Frenchie's. I designed it myself.

Thanks to Frenchie for the inspiration!

CMC48 Flowers

Hello Again!
Here's a lovely card I made. I started this card at midnight and here it is 1:41 a.m. But my dear friend Monica Reeck invited me to play along with the challenge at Card Maniac this week because she is a guest designer. So Monika, this one's for you!

The theme for the challenge is FLOWERS! So I colored with Copics on this lovely Lily Elf from AuroraWings.com. Mitzi has some really beautiful images and they are digitals you can purchase and color ASAP! I love that. I'm sort of an instant gratification gal.

Any hoo, I sure hope you like my flower entry.

I'm so excited! This card won me a guest designer spot at Color Throwdown! Thanks Y'all!

Hello and Happy Sunday to all!
Have you been in a rut when it comes to your cardmaking? No! Well I have. I have been making cards for almost 2 decades now and I find through the years my style has changed multiple times. But, for the most part it's still an image and a sentiment with some pretty dsp and cs with a little embellishment thrown in. That said, I am still; usually behind the trend. Take today's card for instance. I think stapling has been around the bend for quite some time. Given... Well, tough tooties, I used them anyway. May not make me a challenge winner but I think they worked for this one.
So what I say to you is, it doesn't matter. Fad or trend; if you like it use it! I DID!!!

My entry for Freshly Made #138 and Color Throw Down #294.
