Unda da sea

This card was created using a varied array of supplies.
I started with SU! Whisper White cs. Using a dauber I applied TSUKINEKO pigment inks -- Toffee, Imperial Purple, Deep Lagoon and Spanish Moss. Then placing a few different stencils in the bottom right hand corner I applied Imperial Purple and Blue Lagoon. Then with Staz-On Black I stamped Textures Water Droplets (CM-T3) from Designs by Ryn. I added white gel pen to highlight the droplets. I used a stencil from Layers of Color Natural Flourish and daubed on Spanish Moss.
Then on another piece of cs I stamped the little seahorse from Pink Paislee's Nantucket stamp set. With my daubers I rubbed on the TSUKINEKO inks. Then I took my Stickles and added some glitz. Lastly I added some rhinestones and call it done. Hope you like my little trip to the ocean. It's been mighty chilly here in North Central Texas for the past week. I was just envisioning some warmer temps.

Designs by Ryn has a challenge going on right now. So if you want to play along just click HERE and it will take you to the challenge.

Have a blessed day!

Play Date

I am very fortunate to have some really wonderful and talented friends in my life. Two of which are Deb and Lorna.

In the photo below you see the same image stamped and colored 3 times.
Deb's is on the left, mine in the midddle and Lorna's is on the right.
I thought it was pretty neat how the same image could be colored and interpreted 3 different and beautiful ways. These were all colored with PrismaColor Pencils.
Below is a card I designed. The girls copied it but I didn't get photos of their finished cards.

Another card created by me that they copied as well.

Here is another trio. My design. We all used the same bag of goodies and same stamped image and look what we all turned out! Mine is on the left, Lorna's in the middle and Deb's on the right.

Another of my designs done by the trio. Deb's on left, mine in the middle and Lorna's on the right.

I so enjoy these play dates! We always have great fun, laughing and creating and we enjoy a great lunch. Thanks girls for coming over. I love you!

Below is an explosion box I created for a friend of my youngest daughter, Jessi's friend and roommate Sara.
If you are a Dr. Who fan or WHOVIAN as they call themselves then you'll surely know what the T.A.R.D.I.S. is. Below is my rendition of a T.A.R.D.I.S. explosion box!

Hope you have enjoyed my creations and have a wonderful day.

ColorThrowDown #248 - Crumb Cake, Very Vanilla, Pretty in Pink and Cool Carribean.

After a month away from crafting and card making I am trying to ease myself back into challenges. I liked the color pallet for this challenge at Color Throw Down so I played along.

Just to show you what I've been up to in that month long hiatus I will share some photos.

My daughter Holli, her husband Glenn, her son Zackary, her stepson Cameron at Ham's Orchards May 2013.

Best Dad Ever

This is my dad's Father's Day card. I can show it here and on FB because Dad doesn't do the Internet. At 84 soon to be 85 in August, we are so lucky to still have him with us. He went through by pass surgery about his 80th birthday. They said he had 5 blockages then. He's over come that medical issue. Dad is originally from Louisiana, that's why I chose to make this scene scape card for this Father's Day. He and Mom live in Texas now with my sis. So this card will bring Dad back to his roots so to speak.
Regardless, we hope Dad has a very Happy Father's Day!

Happy Father's Day 2013 to ALL the Dads out there!!!

Tues Steppin' on a Wednesday - CTD141

I was s'posed to post this yesterday but of course as par for me I forgot. So here it is! This is my Texas Tuesday - Tues Steppin' card and I used the colors from ColorThrowDown #141 to create it. The colors are Stampin' Up! So Saffron, Rose Red, Aqua (which in my case is Bermuda Bay).
I stamped and heat embossed the So Saffron with SU set Wanted in Daffodil Delight ink. The tag stamp (from Co-TT Design Team Member Deadbeat Mark) was stamped in Rose Red then heat embossed. Using my daubers and making mattes for the ground, The Alamo, the state and the sky; in a circular motion I smudged the various inks. I colored the Alamo itself with the Stampin' Write Blush Blossom marker. Then I highlighted the stucco with Cajun Craze. I distressed the edges and daubed on some Early Espresso ink to the edges. The Alamo is raised up with SU Dimensionals. I added the So Saffron Grosgrain ribbon with a decorative metal brad.

I love this!!! I folowed a tutorial by Michelle Zindorf HERE. However, I didn't have the same stamps or cardstock, so I made what I had work for me. This is my card for Libby's Texas Tues-Step this week.
Hope you like it as much as I do!

Texas Tues-Step - Howdy!

This is my Texas Tues-Step for this week. I followed a Michelle Zindorf tutorial. However, mine is no where near as good as hers. But I still think it represents TEXAS!

Please check out the rest of the Posse's creations. You can find their links in the side bar on the bottom left.

If you are interested in purchasing any Stampin' Up! products, I just want to remind you that Sale-A-Bration ends on March 31st. That will be your last chance to get a FREE stamp set with your $50.00 purchase.

Soul - LTXTS & TSTC42

Bread feeds the body, indeed, but flowers feed the soul. - Libby's Texas Tues - Step & Twisted Sketches Twisted Cards #42. Long about spring time in Texas these red poppies just "pop" up everywhere! I love all the wildflowers that we have in Texas. The poppies just seem to reach out at me this week. Please visit the rest of the POSSE's blogs and leave some love. You can find their links below and in the side bar.

My poppies are were stamped in Basic Black and colored with my blender pen using Cherry Cobbler, Cajun Craze, and Pumpkin Pie. I started with the lightest color first working my way in towards the flowers' centers. Then on the stems and leaves I colored with Pear Pizzazz first and then I used Old Olive in the creases of the leaves and around the edges. Once my coloring was complete, added Glossy Accents to all of the flowers.
The "TWIST" in the Twisted Sketches Challenge this week was to use die cuts. Well, it may be hard to tell but the small scalled green border and the yellow pinked border are both die cut stickers. The lacey scalloped is a border punch.
The sentiment as well as the poppies are from There She Goes. Buttons and twine are from my stash.
