Tues Steppin' on a Wednesday - CTD141

I was s'posed to post this yesterday but of course as par for me I forgot. So here it is! This is my Texas Tuesday - Tues Steppin' card and I used the colors from ColorThrowDown #141 to create it. The colors are Stampin' Up! So Saffron, Rose Red, Aqua (which in my case is Bermuda Bay).
I stamped and heat embossed the So Saffron with SU set Wanted in Daffodil Delight ink. The tag stamp (from Co-TT Design Team Member Deadbeat Mark) was stamped in Rose Red then heat embossed. Using my daubers and making mattes for the ground, The Alamo, the state and the sky; in a circular motion I smudged the various inks. I colored the Alamo itself with the Stampin' Write Blush Blossom marker. Then I highlighted the stucco with Cajun Craze. I distressed the edges and daubed on some Early Espresso ink to the edges. The Alamo is raised up with SU Dimensionals. I added the So Saffron Grosgrain ribbon with a decorative metal brad.

Tues-Steppin'! Texas Style...

I love this!!! I folowed a tutorial by Michelle Zindorf HERE. However, I didn't have the same stamps or cardstock, so I made what I had work for me. This is my card for Libby's Texas Tues-Step this week.
Hope you like it as much as I do!

Be sure to check out the creations of my fellow DT members, their sites can be found in my sidebar.

Texas Tues-Step - Howdy!

This is my Texas Tues-Step for this week. I followed a Michelle Zindorf tutorial. However, mine is no where near as good as hers. But I still think it represents TEXAS!

Please check out the rest of the Posse's creations. You can find their links in the side bar on the bottom left.

If you are interested in purchasing any Stampin' Up! products, I just want to remind you that Sale-A-Bration ends on March 31st. That will be your last chance to get a FREE stamp set with your $50.00 purchase.

Soul - LTXTS & TSTC42

Bread feeds the body, indeed, but flowers feed the soul. - Libby's Texas Tues - Step & Twisted Sketches Twisted Cards #42. Long about spring time in Texas these red poppies just "pop" up everywhere! I love all the wildflowers that we have in Texas. The poppies just seem to reach out at me this week. Please visit the rest of the POSSE's blogs and leave some love. You can find their links below and in the side bar.

My poppies are were stamped in Basic Black and colored with my blender pen using Cherry Cobbler, Cajun Craze, and Pumpkin Pie. I started with the lightest color first working my way in towards the flowers' centers. Then on the stems and leaves I colored with Pear Pizzazz first and then I used Old Olive in the creases of the leaves and around the edges. Once my coloring was complete, added Glossy Accents to all of the flowers.
The "TWIST" in the Twisted Sketches Challenge this week was to use die cuts. Well, it may be hard to tell but the small scalled green border and the yellow pinked border are both die cut stickers. The lacey scalloped is a border punch.
The sentiment as well as the poppies are from There She Goes. Buttons and twine are from my stash.

Howdy! from Texas

LTXTS12 - This is not an old postcard. It's a new piece of crumb cake cardstock that was burned with my heat tool. I added some Stampin' Up! stamps and from a fellow cow hand, Deadbeat Mark. This was fun to do but I almost gave my family a heart attack when they smelled something burning! I assured them everything was ok. I used my aqua painter to color the state. Inks used are early espresso, cajun craze, cherry cobbler, and marina mist. If you were born in Texas, or born elsewhere (like me) but got here as fast as you could, or if you just like Texana, then we welcome you to play along with us on Texas Tuesdays. Texas Tuesdays are every 1st & 3rd Tuesday of the month. Just create something Texas-y and post it to your blog and leave your link in the comments and we'll go check it out!

Greetings from Texas - LTXTS10

Greetings from Texas. This card was created for Libby's Texas Tues - Step Tuesdays using Trish's Sunday Sketch for my CardSketchesBy ZacksNana Group. This is a Stampin' Up! image and I colored with Copics. We took a drive today and this is pretty much what I saw. We left here about 10:30 AM and drove west. After several hours we found ourselves in Muenster, TX. Muenster is a predominantly German Catholic community and it's very picturesque. We enjoy visiting there. My card represents life in rural Texas, fields of hay rolls and red, white and blue barns.
If you live in or just plain love Texas and want to play along the rules are PDS -
1. Texas themed creation
2. Post it to your blog
3. Link it to Libby's blog
4. Post every 1st & 3rd Tuesday of the month.

Please visit the blogs of the rest of Libby's HIRED HANDS, their links are in my side bar.
Thanks for looking!

Howdy! - LTXTS9

Ok I probably should have used the WANTED stamp on this one. But I wanted to keep it friendly as this card serves two purposes this week. It not only qualifies for my Nov. card sample for CardSketchesByZacksNana (the Nov. challenge is to use the sketch and add ribbon and brad(s) but its also a Tues-Step card for Libby's Tues Steps. The image is from Lauretta's Digital Stamps and it was SOOOOO much fun to color (I used Copics and chalks)!!! I loved it!
The dp is a scrap I had lying around and I just love the velvet swirlies, reminds me of, 'ahem' a saloon in the old west. Or maybe the curtains is a saloon girl's room. Ribbons are from i{heart}papers. The sentiment is from Deadbeat Designs. The brad is from Kaiser.

HOWDY! - LTXTS7 & LTXTS7a

Howdy! - Libby's Texas Tues-Step. I know I am hung up on horses. But I saw this image in a recent movie and thought it was Texas and would make a terrific Tues-Step card. So there you have my reasoning. Next week I promise I'll do something different. :O)
Now if you're new to Texas Tues-Step then let me clue you in...
Texas Tues-Step is a group of cardmakers from Texas; living there now, lived there once, or whose heart resides in Texas who every 1st and 3rd Tuesday create and post Texas themed cards on their blogs. Be sure to check out the rest of Trail Boss Libby's Posse. You can find their links in my sidebar.

Deets on my card: I brayered basic black and night of navy on the top and bottom of my white cardstock. Then I inked up my horse stamp and stamped off then onto my cardstock 3 times. Then I inked it up again and stamped directly on the cardstock 3 times. I smudged a little basic black ink over the lower portion of the moon. I stamped the branches from SU Embrace Life. Then I colored the leaves in with my navy American Crafts Stamp Marker. I stamped Howdy in white ink on my navy cardstock.

Ok so I couldn't resist! Deadbeat Mark sent me this TEXAS stamp as a Thank You and I just had to use it ( Thank YOU Mark!). The little lasso Cowboy is from The Cat's Pajamas. In an earlier post I showed a little tutorial on creating your own embossing tools for use with your Cuttlebug. The background paper here is from that tutorial. See, when I think of Texas I think of the Old West and all things, dirty and dusty. So distressing comes in to play. So I colored the stars in the background paper with my PermaPague markers. I stamped TEXAS in chocolate brown, but what you can't see in the picture is the letters have little lines down the centers. I colored in those lines with my red PermaPague marker. My little cowboy was colored almost completely with the PermaPague markers - silver, metalic blue, red. I used my Copic marker #E71 for his hat and vest. Then I used #YR00 for his face. The star brad is from Creative Imaginations.

TEXAS - LTXTS6

TEXAS - Libby's Texas Tues-Step. This week the 'POSSE' was given a stamp by Mark from Deadbeat Designs to use for our projects. We all received the same stamp and were asked to create to our hearts content with them. I created a set of cards using 2 of Deadbeat Designs' stamps. The smaller image of the state of Texas with the lone star is the gift/assignment stamp from Mark, I used for my focal point and the TEXAS stamp I used to create my dp. Everything was stamped in Stampabilities Brown. The smaller image of Texas was stamped, heat embossed with clear embossing powder and then watercolored with Night of Navy and Ruby Red using my aqua painter. I pounced with Stampabilities Brown on all the edges of the dp and the smaller image. Then I smudged brown ink to distress the entire project. The dp is matted with chocolate brown and a beige cardstock. I added antiqued brads to all four corners of each card. The smaller image is raised on foam adhesives. I love this set and it will be a nice birthday gift for a male friend here in Texas.
If you think you'd like to play along with the rest of the 'POSSE' then follow this link to Libby's blog and post your creations. Don't forget to check out the great talents of the rest of the design team; there links are in my sidebar under TEXAS TUES-STEP POSSE.

TEXAS Tues-Step & CSBZNTS14

This is my Texas Tues-Step card and my card for my CardSketchesByZacksNana Trish Davey Sunday Sketches #14. I've really been enjoying Tues-Steppin' with Libby and the rest of the Posse. I made my own bandana looking background using the Wanted Stamp set from Stampin' Up! Then I stamped my horse from the same set with Versa Mark and heat embossed. Then I inked the stamp with white and stamped over the previous image to create a shadow.
Be sure to check out the POSSE in my sidebar. If you Texas Tues-Step, we'd love to see what you create. Please go to Libby's blog and add your direct link.

Celebrate - LTTSC4

Celebrate - Texas Tues-Step with our Trail Boss Libby.
My image is a stamp but I can't remember where I purchased it from. So if you have any ideas please e-mail me so I can give credit where credit is due. I colored this little fellow with copics then I added Glossy Accents and let it dry over night. Then I brayered over him with SU creamy caramel, yoyo yellow and tempting tourquoise. The trees are a stamp from Deadbeat Designs (Thanks Mark). I stamped them in mellow moss. Then I chalked over them with some lime green. I chalked dark brown under the trees for shadows. I added highlights to the sky with my Signo gel pen. The brown grass is hand drawn with my Copics and shadowed with the dark brown.
Be sure and check out what the rest of the Posse has created this week.
