Curtain Call May 1

Firstly, let me wish all the moms out there a very Happy Mother's Day!

Below is my card for the Curtain Call May 1 challenge.

My card was created using the Sweet Floral stamp from Stampin' Up! I stamped the image with Versa Mark and used Pan Pastels to smudge the colors. On top I place a die cut in shiny gold. I stamped the butterfly and colored it with my ColourArts Silks acrylic paints. Then went over it with my Wink of Stella. I love this clean and simple card! 

If I'd have left the sentiment off, this would have been a perfect Mother's Day card!

Art Journaling

Although I have been art journaling for several months now, I most recently stumbled upon the beautifully whimiscal work of Rach0113 on yountube. I love what she does!!!! Can't emphasize that nearly enough. You can find her here:

I did follow one of her tutorials very carefully. Then I flew off at my own pace with my own designs. I drew ALL -- both of the mushroom houses and the little umbrella by hand. Part of my Zentangle therapy. 

 So without further adue below is my journal page that I've been working on for the past 3 days. Hope you like it.

 The words read "live gently upon this earth". Sorry its hard to read but on this project I used a lot of Colour Arte Silks Acrylic Glazes.

The set I have includes Blue Sky, Pretty Peridot, Jasmine, Spiced Pumpkin, Snap Dragon, Emperor's Gold. In the background the flowers (dots) are all dylusions paints : lemon zest, london blue, squeezed orange, and crushed grape. Clouds were stenciled in with dylusions white linen. The puffy dots are Tulip White Puffy Paint.

Vines and leaves are stenciled in with Stencil Ease stencil paste and the Natural Flourish stencil from Layers of Color. Then I painted over them with the Pretty Peridot Glaze.
