LT3

The Little Tangles Challenge #3 this week is a color combo - red, blue and white. Everyone seemed to be using a blue in the torquoise family so I tried to follow suit. Below is my card using a Unity stamp set. I love birds and I take the opportunity to use them whenever possible. This little birdie is so cute. I also used some bling my youngest daughter gave me for Christmas along with the lovely red shimmer paper she gave me.
This was the first time I can remember of having 5" of snow on Christmas day in Allen, TX is a LONG time! I loved it! My grandson, Zack loved it! Seamus the Airedale loved it! :O)

Hope you all love my entry for this week's Little Tangles Challenge.

Tuesday Morning Sketches #178 _ Anything Goes. Hmmm... a sketch challenge blog with no sketch??? That's right! That's what they decided to do this week at Tuesday Morning Sketches. I'm not complaining, it just makes you wanna go HMMMMM...  :O)

Above is my card. I used a stamp from Stampin' Up! Fabulous Florets along with some sticker flowers I got last Christmas and a Unity stamp for my sentiment. I chose these sticker flowers beacuse they already had some bling going on! I love bling!

I thought it was an interesting effect the way the flowers were semi transparent and you can see the stems and leaves through them.

My first attempt at a shriveled flower. I don't think that's what Beate Johns calls it but that's the best way I found to describe it. I heated several pieces of netting, and various ribbons to make my flower. The dark blue ribbon in the center of the flower is that same ribbon used on the cardstock.

Christmas Challenges Blog Challenge #54 Robyn's Fetish.
I chose the street lamp for my image and I just so enjoyed coloring it. I used dsp from the NOEL paper pack by Teresa Collins. Just love the way they coordinated with the image.

ColorThrowDown #222 - Basic Black, Bashful Blue, Summer Sun, Pacific Point.

I chose to use the colors in a scene scape. I have been making Christmas cards since July so I thought today I'd do something not quite Christmas but still in the fall/winter phase. I am quite pleased with the way it turned out and I loved the color combo.

CCCwS DT Call

Chrsitmas Challenges Blog DT Call entry.

For my card I chose to use a stamp I received as a Christmas gift from one of my stamping pals. It's from Close to My Heart (To You and Yours Seasons & Nature). It's a beautiful little bird and so easy to color with markers, watercolor pencils or even watercolor crayons.

I so enjoy playing these sketch challenges. They always make me use my brain to come up with something that fits the challenge.

Quick Meal to Decorate by

Hi there! If you are anything like me, during the holidays there's decorating to be done or shopping or gift deliveries to be made. So, I like to do these one dish meals that I can mix up and pop into the oven. Today I am sharing with you a dish made completely in a skillet!

No Time to Dally Shepherd's Pie

2 lbs lean ground beef
2 tbls. olive oil
Mixed chopped onions, celery and bell peppers (1 cup)
1 can cream of mushroom soup
1 can of Early June Peas drained
Beazell's Cajun Seasoning to taste
2 tbls. Kitchen Bouquet

2 cups frozen hash browns
2 cups grated cheddar cheese

In large skillet cook ground beef and drain. Return to skillet and add olive oil and mixed chopped vegetables. Cook until lightly browned. Add Beazell's, Kitchen Bouquet, and soup. Simmer for 10 minutes.
Remove from heat. Add peas and stir well.
Top with cheddar cheese.
Top with Hash Browns

Bake in skillet in a 425 oven for 30 minutes.
Alternate for breakfast. Substitute Jimmy Deans breakfast sausage and 6 eggs for the ground beef and peas.

Hope you enjoy!

Have a safe and blessed Christmas.

CTS7

CAS(E) this Sketch #7. I chose to make a tag card. I think stamping snowflakes randomly then added a punched image really gives some depth to the tag design. Hope you like it.

Happy Birthday

Everything Eleanor - I really LOVE this Stampin' Up! stamp set. I've stayed in the purple/violet family using Rich Razzleberry, Condord Crush and Orchid Opulence. Orange and Yellow pearl paints from Ranger. For my sentiment; I stamped the background border in Concord Crush, then without re-inking I stamped it again. Then I used Concord Crush to stamp Happy Birthday. Added to pearls, then craft cut.

Merry Christmas!
I designed this card myself and I love the simplicity of it and it all works really well with the Christmas Card Challenges Blog's sketch #1.

Through the Window

Through the window.

Last week I was snurfing - snooping while surfing, when I came across a tutorial on how to double emboss and make it look like porcelain. Well, now I can not remember the site I found it on. But I think she may be on SplitCoastStampers. Anyhoo, I changed the embossing folders and the the flowers to make my card have a winter/holiday feel. I've used embossing folders and inked up the negative spaces with River Rock ink and ran them through The Big Shot. Love this effect!
My flowers were punched from Spring Blossoms punch (discontinued). Branches are punched with Build a Bird punch. The candle is part of the Word Window Punch and the flame is a little piece of dsp punched from the Build a Cupcake Punch. My window frame was craft cut for the most part with the panes punched out by punching with the Photo Corner Punch (discontinued). I just snipped with excess from the middle with my scissors. Little yellow brads make my flower centers.

Christmas Challenge Blog (with Sketches) #52 ---

My card started with a preprinted base cs. Then I added Stampin' Up! DSPs, ribbon and stamps. A few rhinestones I colored with Sharpies. I'm quite pleased with the way the card turned out. There are so many layers and I LOVE layers!!! Below is the sketch designed by Betina.
