Mom&PopDayCards

These are the two cards I made. One is for Mother's Day and the other is for Father's Day. I wasn't able to be with my parents for either holiday so I mailed them. Mom called over the weekend to thank me. They loved their cards.

Curtain Call Totally Tassel

My Godson, Stephen is graduating today from Nichols State University in Thibodaux, Louisiana! This is the card I made for him. It's a gatefold card and the little owl has a repositional adhesive dot behind it for the closure. He was so much fun to make! I think Stephen is going to like it very much. The award is a stamp from Simon Says Stamp set You Can Do Anything. this card has been entered into the Curtain Call Challenge - Totally Tassel

Below is the inspiration for my card.

MonikasBirthdayChallenge

My sweet friend Monika is celebrating a birthday this month! She wants to celebrate with a challenge. So her challenge is to CASE one of her cards. For my CASE card I chose the card below.

This was a fun challenge for me as I don't create a lot of masculine cards. Which happens to be Monika's favorite card to make.
I hope she likes my attempt at CASE-ing her card. If you'd like to help Monika celebrate her birthday month, hop on over to her blog and play along. Just click HERE to follow the link.

Graduation Day - TTT/SP

Top TipTuesday challenge this week, we the design team for SoftPencil Designs are using SP images and creating a card with the theme "For the Kids". My card was created for my Goddaughter Britni who is graduating this month. I used Stampin' Up! products to create the Mortar board (gift card holder) and SoftPencil's little girl graduate is free standing. She just pops inside the card.
Above you can see the flap of the Mortar board is closed. To the left it is opened showing you the graduates name card and the pocket for a gift card. It also holds the sentiment and a place to leave a msg. (white cs). Elements added to the card are from Britni's graduation card.
Much simpler but you can see you can make it match your graduate's school colors.

Just a fun photo here of my love, Seamus Bobby McGee.
He's aking me to stop making cards and "puleeeze play wit me!"

Have a terrific day!

College or Bust! - JAI16

College or Bust! - Just Add Ink #16 -

soft suede, pretty ink pink, ruby red, and so saffron. Although this is challenge #16 for Just Add Ink, it a is first time play for me. I stumbled upon Chic' n Scratch a couple of days ago. Angie does a weekly card tutorial on her blog and week #5 was a tutorial to make this 4 square card. Angie used a different color combo, I used the color combo for the JAI challenge. Even my hubs said he liked these colors together. The stamps are from Shirley's 2 Girls. I stamped my image with Stampabilities brown and heat embossed. Then I used my aqua painter with SU rose red and creamy caramel and CTMH sunflower to water color my image. My mod ribbon is from American Crafts.

Blake's High School Graduation - brayer scene

My hub's cousin's oldest is graduating this month. We have watched Blake grow from the nine months in his mom's tummy to a handsome 18 year old man. Now it is time for Blake to graduate high school and go on to college. He has varied interests; music, girls, his truck, girls, playing guitar and oh did I mention GIRLS??? Well, it's no wonder. He plays guitar and sings. What girl wouldn't swoon? Anyhoo, here is the card I made for Blake. I brayered the background with SU ballet blue (sky), mellow moss (ground) and then I masked off the road spot and added creamy caramel. I have a little tiny grass stamp from a Hanna Stamps set and I just inked it up with the mellow moss and stamped all over the ground. Then I went over it with my black Copic marker. I inked it again with creamy caramel and stamped it in an upward line on the road to make ruts. The truck is a stamp from Deadbeat Designs. I stamped it and colored with Copics and Permapaque' Markers. It was too big so I scanned it, resized and printed in a much smaller size. I added white Signo gel ink to the bumper, tail lights and mirrors. My trees are also a stamp from Deadbeat Designs. I used my aqua painter with mellow moss to color my trees. Stamped Congratulations in ballet blue (stamp is from SU!). Lastly, I added some Signo white gel to the sky.

Inside sentiment:
Blake,
If you ever wonder whether you have
what it takes to succeed,
just remember this moment...
and all the love and pride that surround you
as you graduate.
Congratulations, Let the Journey Begin!
