C4C311

Ok, for this one I started with watercolor paper. Stamped and embossed the trees. Then I sprinkled Bistre and Brushos onto the paper. I used a paper towel and a piece of plastic to mask off the lower portion of the paper then I spritzed with water. I waited for that to try. Then I masked the top portion and added green and yellow Bistre and Brushos to the bottom then I spritzed with water.
I used Stampin' Up! XL Round Label punch and created my two little hot chocolate mugs. Added some Liquid Applique' for the whipped cream on my hot chocolate. :-)

Fall is my favorite time of year. I love Thanksgiving and spending time with my family.

Freshly Made Sketch #211

Boy have I felt like creating today!
Recently on my FaceBook page I let it be known that I was looking for old sheet music. Fortunately I have a friend back home in Lousiana, Kathy Grimball Primeaux. She's a sweetie and has been very generous to me. She packed up a load of old sheet music with some old newspapers from the 60s and shipped them to me. It was HEAVY yall! Shipping was $11.30! But I've had fun looking through it all. Some music I recognized. Most I did not. But all in all I found some treasures. This music, from a church music book, was one of them.
It was already torn and brown on the edges. So I just took it a little bit further with some Tim Holtz distress inks. The embellies are from Maggie Holmes. I so felt the sentiment went with the song title.

I hope this day is a blessing to all reading.

Here's the sketch from Freshly Made and the link is HERE.

I think I got this!

This is my card for the challenge at Curtain Call. Stacey always has something fun up her sleeve. I loved this challenge. I used the papers and embellies from My Mind's Eye Sleigh Ride. I was bowled over by the papers in this pack. It SCREAMS Christmas to me!
If you like plaid give it a go. If you don't like plaid then maybe this challenge is the one to change your thoughts on it. Anyhoo, it's fun!

C4C310

Today I played with the ladies at Crazy4Challenges challenge #310 holiday or Christmas themed card.

So as you can see I started off with a plain white background. I wasn't pleased.

So then just to test I placed a piece of red cs behind my card to photograph it. Liked it better, however I still wasn't pleased.

3rd times the charm! I added some glitter paper behind my card front and Voila! Bingo, Boingo! I was finally happy!!!

I love my Sleigh Ride dies from Stampin' Up! I've played with them over and over. I have yet to create something that I didn't love.

If you need a little something to pick you up and get you into the 'spirit' of Christmas, go play with the C4C challenge. It's sure to get your mojo a workin'!

Color Throw Down 365

I am going to have to admit, this certainly was a challenge for me. These colors individually I can do but as a group, they are NOT in my wheel house. I struggled several hours with this and I'm still not sure I like it. But I wanted to play in the Color Throw Down challenge #365 just for the heck of it.

If these colors challenge you too, then you might want to go play with the ladies of CTD#365. Good Luck!

Going Batty CC

Fall is my favorite season of the year. I really love the crispness in the air and the warm colors.

Today's card was made for Curtain Call - Going Batty. I don't own many Halloween stamps. 2 from Stampin' Up! I think. But I have some stickers. So I stamped the haunted house and spooky tree from one of my sets in Staz-On black. Then with my sponge I added background color. Then I traced a window from another project and cut the panes out. Added the stickers and my stamped sentiment. I used the brick wall embossing folder from Stampin' Up! on my purple card stock.
Drop by Curtain Call and play along.
