COLORQ204

Well, a funny thing happened. I made a card for the ColorQ Challenge #203. However, by the time I got my post all written up and ready to publish, #203 was closed. So, I immediately got to work on my card for ColorQ challenge #204 and I am posting it NOW! I don't want to delay and miss another deadline. Besides that I love my card so much I can not wait to SHARE IT! So here ya go.
I used stamps from Chocolate Baroque and the sentiment is from Stampin' Up! I colored the flowers with my Tombow Blender pen and my Stampin' Up! ink pads: Bermuda Bay, Calypso Coral, Concord Crush and Lucky Limeade. All the flowers were stamped in distress ink color Black Soot. To each O in my sentiment I added a SU tiny pearl. Some Signo White gel pen here and there added some highlights.
Here's a closeup of a couple of the flowers. This set from Chocolate Baroque is #UA5SP0422 Fancy Flowers. There are 12 different flowers in the set! I only used 5 on my card.
I LOVE these stamps as there is so much detail and they are so easy to color whether you used you ink pads and blender pen or go straight marker to paper or even use your Copics these stamps WILL NOT disappoint!

Ok now back to the challenge at ColorQ 204, I used all of the colors in the challenge and they all seemlessly go well together. Those brilliant gals! If you love this color combo and think you can make it work then go on over to COLORQ and try your hand. Even if you are not sure about the colors, give it a try anyway. I think you'll like the outcome.

MOJO308

MoJo Monday at Verve. Challenge #308 to use the sketch Julee provided.

For my card I chose the Bundle from Stampin' Up! Backyard Basics and I used stamps and dies from the bundle. I love to color birds so that was an easy choice for me. I added the flowers as an after thought. I chose to color them to look like the purple iris. To embellish I used a scrap of ribbon, a hat pin and a piece of bling from SU Frosted Finishes.

There She Goes challenge #222. Cute sketch. I chose an old There She Goes Stamp set to play along with the sketch. It's called You're A Hoot! I colored my owl with Copics markers and then placed him on a Spellbinders die and ran it through my Big Shot. I added a sentiment as part of the 3 banners in the sketch. I had some metal accents so I attached them with some rhinestone brads. Did some faux stitching anf called this one complete. Hope you like it! Why don't you hop on over to There She Goes and play along with the sketch. In the creating process I realized this card also works for the Crazy 4 Challenges #200 this week.
I won't tell you what the C4C challenge is. You'll have to go visit their blog to find out.

TPP159

Today I am playing along with  The Paper Players challenge #159. Below is my card for the challenge. I chose the "Black Magic" technique for my card. The more I try this technique the more I fall in love with it. It's basically stamping your image in WHITE ink onto BLACK cs. Then when the ink dries you use your color pencils to color the image. Then you come back with a white Signo Gel pen and highlight. Easy Peasy Lemon Squeazy!

For my card I chose Close to My Heart's Treasures stamp set. I used the largest dandelion flower and the straight stem along side of the sentiment stamp in the collection. The butterfly is from Stampin' Up! Best of Butterflies which is one of their anniversary stamp sets. I colored with my PrismaColor Pencils. I invested in their 132 ct pencil set and I just adore coloring with them. They work perfectly for this technique.
Go ahead and give the "Black Magic" a try. I know you will love it as much as I.

Here's the challenge at The Paper Players this week.

DD65

the color combo -

My card was created using Stampin' Up! Blushing Bride cs and cs from American Greetings. Stamp is from Stampin' Up! Pursuit of Happiness. Embossing folders  on the background are from Stampin' Up! as well. The ef on the sentiment is from QuikCuts. I did not have the pistachio colored ribbon, so, with my ink pad and a sponge I colored my ribbon. Rhinestones are from Stampin' Up! also.

Whimsy Girls Drawings

Recently I signed up for a drawing class online with Megan King Suarez. When you sign up Megan provides you with a password and link to the workshops' video tutorials. I chose the WhimsyGirls workshop. Megan also offers Whimsy Mermaids reg. $45, Cute and Creepy reg. $45, Journal Jar Project reg. $85 and coming soon....Whimsy Fairies $65.
Below are my Whimsy Girls in the order in which I drew them:

I am enjoying the drawing and the coloring. Some mornings though I think I need to do drawing stretching exercises with my hands before I begin. As you can see with my last Whimsy Girl my hand was pretty shaky. Still, I like her. Foibles and all!

Thanks for looking. Your creative criticism is greatly appreciated.

Play Date

I am very fortunate to have some really wonderful and talented friends in my life. Two of which are Deb and Lorna.

In the photo below you see the same image stamped and colored 3 times.
Deb's is on the left, mine in the midddle and Lorna's is on the right.
I thought it was pretty neat how the same image could be colored and interpreted 3 different and beautiful ways. These were all colored with PrismaColor Pencils.
Below is a card I designed. The girls copied it but I didn't get photos of their finished cards.

Another card created by me that they copied as well.

Here is another trio. My design. We all used the same bag of goodies and same stamped image and look what we all turned out! Mine is on the left, Lorna's in the middle and Deb's on the right.

Another of my designs done by the trio. Deb's on left, mine in the middle and Lorna's on the right.

I so enjoy these play dates! We always have great fun, laughing and creating and we enjoy a great lunch. Thanks girls for coming over. I love you!

Below is an explosion box I created for a friend of my youngest daughter, Jessi's friend and roommate Sara.
If you are a Dr. Who fan or WHOVIAN as they call themselves then you'll surely know what the T.A.R.D.I.S. is. Below is my rendition of a T.A.R.D.I.S. explosion box!

Hope you have enjoyed my creations and have a wonderful day.
