I Spy a Color Throw Down

Howdy! Well, this is a fabulous color combo from ColorThrowDown #198 and neat-o sketch from iSpySketches #22.

For my card I used the shiny silver cs from Stampin' Up! along with some Whisper White and Pool Party. I stamped some borders on my dsp with Basic Gray ink and head embossed with clear. I stamped a little Fleur De Lis in Versa Mark and heat embossed with Tangerine Tango ep. Then I punched it out of the shiny silver with a circle punch. Then I punched the Scallop Circle and raised it up with dimensionals. Stamped my sentiment in Tangerine Tango and Voila! It was complete.
Those Color Throw Down Colors are perfect for some summer fun! Tangerine Tango, Calypso Coral, Basic Gray and Pool Party! Rockin' the Cabana Babeee!

Watercolor Crayon Roses

I am not sure what stamp this is as it was stamped and silver embossed and given to me. I colored the entire image with my Stampin' Up! WaterColor Crayons. I like the paintbrush to water, water to crayon, brush to image technique. This gives me more control of how much and where I want the color. Of course it is 11:17 p.m. and the light is not the greatest. I think I will try to take a picture in sunlight in the daytime. If I can get a good shot I will post it here below.
Ok I actually like the late night shot better. But at least in the sun you can see that the image was embossed in silver.

SPT11

Hello Again on SoftPencil Studios Tuesday! This is post #11 for me and I just had to play with cute little Michu and Mom. I've also played with some of my Simply Scrappin' kit from Stampin' Up! Pinwheels on Parade. Love these DSPs and stickers!!!  I've used my paintbrush with my watercolor crayons (SU). You can use these beautiful papers and stickers for any occassion. Nobody says just because they look sort of nautical that that's all they can be used for. Take the dsp with the little diamond shapes, I can totally see them as kites. Maybe I'll use them that way on a a future project. You just never know. :O)

I like the watercolor crayons for coloring digital images because I can use colors like Soft Suede, Crumb Cake and River Rock for true to like color.

If you'd like to see more of the SoftPencil Studios DT creations please follow this link to SoftPencil Studios FB page.

but in the sunshine of life.

MAJOR ANNOUNCEMENT FROM TWISTED SKETCHES
It is with great sadness I have to announce that I am closing down Twisted Sketches so this is the last sketch for both Layouts and Cards. After an amazing run of 3 years, I felt it was right to let it go at this point and hope you have enjoyed and been inspired by the sketches.
I am grateful to the wonderful support of the girls on the Design team through the years and humbled by our fans. Thank you for sharing your work and being part of my journey.
So from all of us to all of you, THANKS.
Anam & the Twisted Sketches DT
It has been a fun ride as a DT member for Twisted Sketches. I've made some new friends and I'd like to take this opportunity to "Thank" Anam for having faith in me as a member of her DT at Twisted Sketches. We are all saddened that Twisted Sketches is going away, but there are so many talented people on these DTs that I know you will see them popping up elsewhere.
Till then we say Farewell to Twisted Sketches.

Below is a card I made for sketch #111 -- Twist is Wedding
I felt I had put so much work into it I just had to share.

ReInkers

Hi! Today there is a lot of buzz about re-inkers. So I tried the tchnique out for myself using Stampin' Up! Calypso Coral, Lucky Limeade and Wisteria Wonder re-inkers. First I spritzed on Champagne Mist Shimmer Paint mixed in alcohol. I saturated the watercolor paper. Then I just dropped dots of each color ink and blew them around. When I was ready to stamp I used stamps from my Wings of Friendship set to stamp in Basic Black. I didn't think the body of the bird was distnct enough so I went over it with my Basic Black Stampin' Writer Pen. I added Signo white to highlight. I die cut using the Labels Collection Framelits #125598. I embossed my Whisper White cs with the Framed Tulip Folder#121809.

So if you want to try a NEW technique, get out your little squeezy bottles of inks and play with them on watercolor paper with rubbing alcohol. The outcome is ALWAYS a surprise!

Eiffel

I was playing with an idea I got from a photograph I saw on FB. Paris with a bit of fog...
So I brayered Stampin' Up! Rose Romance and Basic Grey ink onto a piece of glossy white cs. Then I stamped the Eiffel Tower from Artistic Etchings #120573 Crumb Cake ink. Then I stamped the trees from Lovely as a Tree #127793. Then I masked off the lower portion of the scene and I used the more squatty tree from the same set and stamped in Lucky Limeade randomly. For the roses I used the small rose from Happiness Shared (discontinued) #120534 with the Real Red, Daffodil Delight and Lucky Limeade markers. I  colored the stems with the Lucky Limeade and using the Real Red & Daffodil Delight markers I tapped on color to the flower itself. Then I huffed and stamped. I colored in the open spaces of the roses with the markers. I then added some extra green around my trees and shrubs with the Lucky Limeade marker. Using a sponge I tapped in some Real Red on the trees. When that was done I went over the upper portion of the scene with a paint brush I loaded with Whisper White ink to create the haze.

Hope you like this little creation. I sure enjoyed putting it together.

SoftPencil Tuesday #10 - today I used stickers from the Charming set. I added a stained glass window behind. I stamped that image while visiting a friend of mine. I have no idea who makes the stamp but it has PEACE at the bottom of the window. I placed everything on some SU! Pool Party cs and added some stickers from the SU! Pinwheels on Parade Simply Scrappin' kit. Added one of SU! new fabric brads and some twine.

Be sure to visit the rest of my friends on the DT. We all enjoy reading your comments on our creations using SoftPencil Studios products.

Stamping Scenes and Coloring them

Recently my gal pals and I gave our group a name. We're calling ourselves Bodacious YaYa Stampers!
For over a month now the 5 of us have been getting together and creating some beautiful art work for our greeting cards. We stamp scenes and color with ink pads, markers, chalks, watercolor metalics, Q-tips, daubers, and cosmetic sponges. Below are just a few samples that I myself, painted. Enjoy!!!

Little Church in the Wild Wood - Stamped in Archivers. Sponge, dauber and marker added the color.

Sing like no one's listening: painted with watercolor metalics, water and a small brush.
Ice Cream Sunday: painted with watercolor metalics.
Weeping Willow: stamped in Handsome Hunter Stampin' Up! ink.
Forest stream: stamped in Archivers Sepia and daubed with ink from a pad.
Majestic Mount: Brayered completely with Soft Sky (SU) ink from pad. Stamped the image in Handsome Sunter (SU) ink pad. Rubbed some Handsome Sunter ink ink at the bottom with a cosmetic sponge. Then use a white Signo Gel Pen to highlight the mountains.
Watermill in Winter : the scene was stamped in Archivers Black. The color was added with Q-tips, cosmetic sponges, paint brushes and ink pads anf markers.
Springtime Blossoms: stamped with Archivers. Colored with Q-tips, cosmetic sponges and markers.
A Rose Song: stamped with Archivers. Colored with markers and cosmetic sponges.
Fresh Delivery: stamped in Archivers. Colored with paint brush and ink pad, cosmetic sponges and brayer.
Stamped in Basic Black, Daffodil Delight, Dusty Durango and Old Olive (SU) ink. Sponged various shades of the yellow/orange family in the sky and water. Stamped some trees over top and heat embossed with black embossing powder for dimension.
Bambi : stamped in Basic Black. Colored with sponges, daubers and markers.

My Ranier: stamped in Archivers black. Sponged on Sky Blue in a dragging motion over the sky. Then pounced with a sponge on the lower portion in Handsome Hunter varying the touch. Same thing with Violet and Lavender. Went over the high spots with white Signo Gel Pen.

This has been great fun and we intend to continue getting together once or twice a week just to play like this. It has brought my great joy to be able to have this time to sit and enjoy my friends.

Thanks for looking. Hope you've enjoyed what you've seen.

SoftPencil Tuesday #9

ENJOY LIFE one cupcake at a time! That's the birthday wish Ratiny and his mom are sending your way on SoftPencil Tuesday this week. Ok, so you say today isn't your birthday. But couldn't the sentiment still ring true? I think so, and if in doubt we could always give it a try, right? Who doesn't love cupcakes???

Anyway this is all about the digital stamp. This is Ratiny and his mom. I printed the image on watercolor paper. I like it better for coloring as this way I can choose the medium I want to play with: ink pads, watercolors, or in this case gel pens. These are all glittery gel pens that a friend gave me and I simply love to color with them. I hope you'll hope over to SoftPencil's page and check out the beauties of the rest of the fabulous DT. Have a happy cupcake day!

TS109 Metal

Twisted Sketches Challenge #109 "Twist" is Metal. I chose copper. I die cut with my Top Note then embossed with my Vintage Wallpaper embossing folder. Then I cut it triptick style. Added some bling and buttons stamped the dogwoods and colored them. I am so excited at how easily the copper went through my Big Shot!

Hope you'll join us at Twisted Sketches this week and play with the challenge.

SoftPencil Tuesday

Hey There! It's SoftPencil Studios Tuesday! Today I am featuring the digital stamp Michu's Mom. Yes that is Michu and his mom. These are so much fun to color because they are nice clean images. Not a lot of fussy bits to color. I added a couple of the butterfly stickers. Coloring was done with Copic markers.

Thanks for Looking. Be sure to check out what the rest of the Design Team has in store for you!

Keep your faith in beautiful things; in the sun when it is hidden, in the spring when it is gone. ~ Roy R. Gilson.

This week the folks at ColorThrowDown194 challenged us to use Poppy Parade, Pool Party, Crumb Cake and Very Vanilla. I think this is an awesome combo and I might just use it again. For my card today I used my Top Note die and cut a piece of Poppy Parade cs. Then using my Fun Flowers die I cut largest flower from the the Poppy Parade cs. Then using the same die and some dsp I cut the two flowers. Then with more Poppy Parade I used the same die and cut the little flower centers. Added some pearls. The ribbon is Chocolate Chip. The sentiment is from the Hostess set Faith in Nature and I added a button brad. The card blank is Pool Party cs and is standard size of 4 1/4" x 5 1/2".

Super STAR CS93

CASE Study #93 - lovely sample made by Agnieszka for the challenge this week.

My finished card size is 4 1/4" x 5 1/2". The matte is 4" x 5 1/4". I used watercolor paper for it's heft. I spritzed SU Champagne Shimmer Mist mixed with alcohol and Island Indigo ink onto my wcp. Then I used the the bottle of reinker and tapped it onto random spots on my wcp. I set that aside and let it dry.
On another piece of wcp I used Island Indigo ink pad and stamped the large flower and large leaf from the Hostess Set Array of Sunshine. Punched the flowers out with my SU Blossom punch. Layered them and raised them up with dimentional adhesives. Added a rhinestone brad, some lace and a die cut sentiment and this one was a wrap.

CASE Study always has some from challenges to offer. Be sure and pop on over there and check them out.

ISPY18

Sometimes, I blow my own mind...
However, sometimes even when I blow my own mind I am disappointed with the photograph of my own project. This photo does NOT do this card justice! What you can not see is STICKLES on the doily! It's a shame too because they really do make it pop.

I used products from the June Simon Says Stamp Card Kit and a few extras I had lying around. This is a terrific sketch from the I SPYSketches Challenge # 18. I don't normally enjoy making those blocks. But I had these fab-o dsps to work with so I jumped in with both feet. I loved the patterns together and think they worked well together for this sketch. The beautiful key stamp is from Jodie Lee. I recently found Jodie's etsy shop and went hog wild! Google Jodie. I stamped the key on glossy white cs with black ink and when it was completely dry I daubed some pink and tangerine ink over it.

I had already stuck my dsps down so I had to cut off the prongs on the back of my brads so they would lay flat. Added a couple of buttons and some twine and Voila!

If you love a challenge, pop on over to I SPY SKETCHES and give this one a try. You won't be sorry!!!
