Deepest Sympathies
Today's card is a sympathy card. It's always a hard card to make, but most especially when it it for a friend whose child has passed. No matter what age they are when a child passes it is hardest to imagine. Recently a high school classmate's daughter passed away. She was only 19. A brilliant, beautiful girl, taken too soon. My heart and prayers go out to my classmate and his family.
Below is my card.
Inside partially opened.
Inside completely open.
All of the stamps used on this card are from Close to my Heart #D1199 Come unto Me
My card takes a full 8.5 x 11 inch sheet of black cardstock cut in half at 5.50, and one piece cut at 5.50 x 3 inches. Score & fold one half piece of carsstock at 4.25 inches and set it aside. Then score and fold the other half at 2 inches, 5 inches and 7 inches. Mountain/Valley fold this piece of cs. Score and fold the 5.50 x 3 inch piece in half at 1.50 inches.
Assembly is pretty simple at this point. Take the 5.50 x 3 inch piece of cs and adhere 1.50 inch flap to the back of the base card (5.50 inches x 8.50 inches) leaving the other flap free. Adhere that free flap to the other 5.50 x 4.25 piece of carstock, joining them as one long base of 22 inches x 5.50 inches. Now you can stamp and decorate as you wish.

2018
Hello There!
Well it's 2018 and today I post my first card creation in this new year.
Below is a card I made for my Uncle Dud. You see, I am from south Louisiana originally and my dad's cousin Gladys whom everyone called T-Boone. I called her my Aunt T-Bone Steak! She loved that. Aunt T-Bone Steak and Uncle Dud (Dudley) Meaux lived in a small town in Louisiana - Abbeville. I used to love going to their house for visits. I can still conjure up in my mind the aromas coming from Aunt Gladys' kitchen. I miss her. She passed a couple years ago. Now Uncle Dud is a widower. But let me tell you something, he's going to be 90+ at the end of January and his mind is sharp as a tack. He touts the miracle remedies of dietary supplements like CoQ-10 and Selenium. Hey! Who and I to judge? He's in his 90s and still going strong!!! God love him.
Voila! Uncle Dud's birthday card.

Today I am featuring the card I created for the Merry Monday Christmas Card Challenge #266 Santa Clause.
For my card I used the Vintage Santa stamp from Stampabilities. The sentiment is a die from Peachy Cheap. To add some color to my stamped image I used Distress Oxide inks on a cotton swab.
The stamped background is En Francais from Stampin' Up!

CWS Shoes
Creative With Stamps Challenge - Shoes
Below is my entry.
Below is my entry.
My sweet friend Monika sent me the link to play along with this challenge. Thanks Monika!
I only have this boot stamp. I'm not a "shoe" person per say. But I do like Stamping and coloring thus rubber boot stamp (Falling Fall #PPAUG1602) from Marcella Harley at Power Poppy.
The image was stamped with basic black and heat embossed with clear embossing powder. This helps keep the different colors separate. It was painted with Tim Holtz Distress Oxides inks and an aqua pen. Pink glitter paper is Stampin' Up! Hello die is from Spellbinders KOTM. The glitter paper, the gold back frame and the image were all cut using Marianne's Designs Frame.
I won an Honorable Mention for this card!!!!
Thanks to the DT at Creative With Stamps.

Brightly Lit Christmas
This card was created using the Brightly Lit Christmas Bundle from SU. This was a fun card to make. The lamp post was die cut from basic black cardstock. The crushed curry made the lights! The mailbox was created using one of the banner dies and the excess from the lamp lights cut from night of navy. This stamp set is very versatile. Getting Christmas Cards Underway
Below is a little assortment of Christmas cards I have been working on for this 2017 Christmas season.
#1 - Watercolor - This scene was created on a piece of 3 3/4" X 5" Strathmore Cold Press watercolor paper. I taped the watercolor paper down to my work station. A 1" wide paint brush and clear water brushed liberally across the piece of card. Then I used my Kuretake paints mixing blue and purple trying to get a varying grade of purples. Then I masked off and brushed on a little darker shade. I used my heat tool to dry the paint. Then I masked off and stamped the trees from SU! set Wonderland. I used the snowflake stamp from the same set to stamp in Whisper White. The lovely black deer die cut is from Elizabeth Craft Designs set 1408 - Reindeer. One I was happy with all of that I used Windsor & Newton Iredescent Medium painted over the entire surface. When that dried I used my Marvy Snow Marker to dot snow on the trees. I mounted the scene on black cs and mounted the black on a white card base. This one was done!
#3 - This one was created using a SU! die. This one is an oldie but goodie. This card had a base of Craft cs. The background cs - is Stampin' Up! Year of Cheer that I used Ranger distress ink that I sponged on ( Evergreen Bough & Twisted Citron). The Warmth & Cheer dsp is from a Stampin' Up! paper pad. The sentiment is from Stampin' Up! stamp set Christmas Quilt. The die cut is from Spellbinders. I added little stitch marks with my White Signo Gel Pen.

#2 - I saw this card demoed on Youtube, but as usual I can not remember who the creator is. So I am going to just tell you how I made mine.
Firstly the card base is Always Artichoke from SU!
The desinger paper is from Carta Bella's Christmas Time by Carina Gardner. The red glitter paper is from Recollections. The poinsettia die cuts are from my stash ( I added Stickles for the holly berries).
Below is what led me to create this card. I just love making something out of the box. This card is an accordian fold card. I used various stamps and stickers to decorate the little 2" x 2" squares.

Sunday Stamps Challenge #164 - Sketch Fun
For this card I used Stampin' Up! Fancy Frost Specialty DSP. I watercolor painted it with my Kuretake paints. The dies are from Spellbinders and I used the Blush glitter paper from SU! The embossed piece was created with Stampin' Up! Garden Trellis EF. I've added a piece of silver satin ribbon from SU!
I thought this was a very pretty Christmas card made using unconventional colors.
My card was chosen my Monika Reeck. Thank You Monika!

Color Throw Down Color Challenge #466 - Plum, Olive & Rust
Spellbinders die, SU! stamps & Markers.
I love this image. We don't have moose here in north central Texas. But we do have a lot of elk and deer. This is sort of my "go to" image for a masculine card. Right now there is someone in a hospital that I am "Thinking of". This card will go out in Saturday's mail. Hopefully my card will cheer him up!

Crazy 4 Challenges #406
Anything goes!!! So I used some Stampin' Up! products along with a Stampabilities Stamp - Nativity. The combination of Stampin' Up! cs and die from A Night in Bethlehem Bundle makes for a beautiful z fold card.
Since I purchased this Bundle from Stampin' Up! I certainly have enjoyed creating with it.

It's Been A While...
Hi there my fellow cardmakers & crafters. I know it has been a while since I posted. The summer kept our home full. We had a lot of family come for visits.
Anyhoo, today I am sharing a card I created for a challenge at SIP Challenge #117 - Watercolor
For my card I used my Kuretake watercolor paint set. Once I got started with this first card, the mojo kept flowing until I had made 3 more! It is very fun. I liberally wet a piece of watercolor paper with my paintbrush. Then I chose my color combo. For this card I used 3 shades of blue and a little pink that mixed with the blue, gave me a light purple. Which I loved! Then everything was completely dry I spattered my Perfect Pearls Forever Green, Mint, Forever Violet, and a little bit of Gold. I loaded up my brush with wet paint. Then I tapped the paint brush on my finger and spattered the metalics. Let your piece dry completely while you work on the other elements of your card.
I really do LOVE this technique.
Using Whisper White cs and one of the dies from the Eclectic Layers Thinlits from Stampin' Up!, I cut the pattern for my window.
I used Nuvo Crushed Grapes Crystal Drops on the four corners.
I used a stick for my sentiment and I die cut a little purple flower with a yellow dot for the center to accent my card.

Mother's Day Card
Here's a little shot of the card I made for my mom for Mother's Day 2017. I used dies from Mama Elephant to cut window frames, window boxes and shutters. I used punch from Stampin' Up! for my cardinals, flowers and stems. The lacey border is a punch from Martha Stewart. DSP, ink and cardstock are all from Stampin' Up!
To make my cardinals I searched Google for a photograph of a male and female side by side so I could compare colors. My mom loves birds! In her living room she has her chair set up next to a window overlooking her backyard. She can sit for hours watching the birds come and go to her flowers and feeders.
I was fortunate enough to spend this Mother's Day with my mom as well as my dad, my brother and sister in law and my hubs. It was a beautiful day. Hubs cooked brisket, potato salad and green beans. I made a cake and we all enjoyed our meal, our day and our visit!
Hope all Mother's had a blessed day.

C4C386 Birthday Card
I must admit, I haven't played in a challenge in quite some time. But I really liked the looks of the sketch over at Crazy 4 Challenges this week. It allowed an opportunity to play with some new (for me) stamps and some new and old dies.
Included are stamps from Stampin' Up!, some Spellbinders and Marianne Design Creatables Dies. The ink is from both Stampin' Up! and Ranger. The DSP and cardstock are from Stampin' Up! as well.
