PP134

The Paper Players Challenge #134.

I went out of the box on this one. I created my own background from a piece of scrap dsp.
I saw this technique on Pinterest. I found it HERE. Basically, what you need is a patterned paper and an embossing folder, some Versa Mark and some clear embossing powder, a dauber and some black re-inker.

Run your dsp through your Big Shot machine in the embossing folder. Then lightly drag your Versa Mark over the raised areas. Sprinkle with embossing powder, dust away any embossing powder that falls into the valleys. Then heat. Repeat this process about 3 or 4 times. Then with a dauber and some black ink daub the black ink into the valleys, until they are completely covered. Then take a paper towel and rub ink off any ink that may have gotten onto the raised areas. It's a resist process and I am now "in love" with it!

So anyhoo, this is my entry for this week's episode of The Paper Players Challenge.

Stamping Challenges #8 - I love this sketch!

I chose to use a digital image from Dilly Beans to color. I added a scrap piece of dsp and then embellished both the scrap and the kraft cs with Ranger Pearls paint. I colored the image with Copics, added some button, twine and ribbon attached to my SU sentiment and called it a wrap.

If you enjoy challenges why not come join me in the running at Stamping Challenges. This is their 8th challenge, so they are just getting started.

Thanks to Megan K Suarez (blog), (SHOP) for the fun images

MOJO281

MOJO MONDAY @ Verve #281 - I chose some very festive colors and dsp for my card today. Loved the colors in the dsp so I ran with them on my cupcakes and sentiment. I'm quite pleased with the way it turned out. I also spotted Libby Hickson's blog where she used a stick pin through the thread on her button so, Libbykins, I borrowed your idea.

Hope you all are warm, safe and having a very happy and color filled day!

Catered Crop STARS

Catered Crop Challenge - Star(s). For this challenge Linda said to use star(s). So I found the biggest one I could and stamped it in Versa Mark on black and heat embossed with copper ep. I love it! I added a peacock feather and for me that's when this card took a romantic turn. And what's more romantic than Paris. So I added some stamped images from SU Artistic Etchings in copper ink onto my background paper. The word Amour was stamped in archival black.

Stamping Challenges7

Stamping Challenges #7 - really cute sketch and I just wanted to play with the color palette of black, white, yellow and green. To stamp I used Stampin' Up! Bliss and Creative Elements stamp sets. Inks were Basic Black and Pear Pizzaz with some Wild Wasabi. I added some Ranger Pearls.

Love the way this one turned out. I really liked the sketch too and will probably use it again in the future.

Letterpress Effect

I watched a tutorial today by Gina K and I really loved what she did so much that I had to give this technique a try. I think it makes for a stunning card.

I used Always Artichoke, Pool Party and Calypso Coral to antique my cs. I love it!

Butterfly Effect_Swallowtails

Today I want to introduce you to the Swallowtail Stamp from Stampin' Up! W129213

From the moment I saw this stamp in the catalog I knew I just had to have it!
So I am going to talk to you today about how I created each of the following butterflies. Please bare with me, I have a new camera and I am still trying to learn how to get the best shots.
The first image below is of two different colored butterflies.
The butterfly on the left was stamped in Basic Black and colored with my Stampin' Up! Markers in Island Indigo, Marina Mist and Pool Party. Then I went back and highlighted some of the details with a blue glitter gel pen. The butterfly on the right was stamped the same way but I used Pumpkin Pie and Summer Starfruit markers. hit the details with a gold glitter gel pen. There bodies were colored green and hit with a yellow green glitter gel pen.

The butterfly below was stamped in Archiver's Jet Black Ink on glossy white paper. I colored this one with Markers as well. I tried to use my blender pen but I let the ink sit too long on the glossy paper and I could not move it around the way I would have liked to. So I used Frost White Shimmer Paint with a wet paint brush and covered the entire butterfly.

This butterfly was stamped with Versa Mark ink. I have mixed together copper, Wild Wasabi and Silver ep. and heat embossed my butterfly. Then I used Marina Mist, Daffodil Delight and Pumpkin Pie ink on daubers and smooshed the ink around.

Finally for this butterfly I used the same ep mixture and heat embossed. Then I smooshed, Pretty In Pink, Pink Passion and Ballet Blue ink around.
I hope you gain some inspiration from my creations. I'd love to see what you do with the Swallowtail

Special Thanks to Sandy MacIver for inspiring me.

Masculine Birthday Card

Hello and Welcome!
Today I have a masculine card for you and it happens to be a birthday card to boot!
For my card I chose to use the Vintage Blue Glitz paper pack. I cut strips of dsp at 1 1/2" x 4" and used my corner punch on opposite corners. My stamps are from Stampin' Up! Hostess Set Wacky Wishes #126412.
What I really like about this set is you can start with "wishing you a" and you can choose from Valentines, Birthday, Easter, Halloween and Christmas and then there's a bonus stamp for Thank You! That's right 7 stamps in this set! Gotta love volume. Heehee.

The brad is something I found in my stash. But I love the little jewels on it. Hey! Who says guys don't like a little bling every now and again. :O)
