C4C324

Crazy 4 Challenges #324 is a sketch. I cut my papers but somehow got the sketch flipped. Anyhoo, I am happy with the way this one turned out. Die cuts, stamping, punches and lace were all used on this one. Oh and that gorgeous DSP is from Stampin' Up! I am thinking Spring with this; Easter, Mother's Day or maybe get well. What say you?

Happy Easter to All of my Blogging Friends

Happy Easter Y'all!

I haven't been very creative lately as I messed up my back several weeks ago and haven't felt like to doing much of anything, let alone sitting for the length of time it takes to make a card.

But I did manage to get this cute accordian fold card made up for my grandson, Zackary as his Easter gift. I threw in some cash to sweeten the pot.

I found the tutorial on someone's website but for the life of me I can't place where. Anyway, she made her card out of a 12 x 12 piece of cardstock. Mine is from an 8.5 x 11 sheet of cs. Dimensions are a little different. The card is wider and not the normal A2 size. But it's a "special" card so I don't mind the odd shape and size. If I get enough requests in the comments I will post photos of measures.

Happy Easter to Me! Looky what my hubs has been up to for the past 2 days!!! He went shopping at Lowe's and bought these beautiful plants and fixed my front flower bed for my Easter gift. I love it!
Thanks Honey, you are the BEST!

Last week I found this color resist technique and I just had to try it. I LOVE it! My friend has asked me to teach it to one of her Stampin' Up! groups next week. I hope I am feeling good enough to carry through with the demo. It's really simple though so I could teach them over the phone. LOL Stamp your flowers onto glossy white cs. Then use a wax crayon to scribble on your flowers. Then you a dauber or sponge and add ink. You will start to notice that where you put the waxy crayon the ink does not adhere. Hince - crayon resist!

Well, Christ Has Risen my friends. I hope you are having a most Blessed Easter with family and friends.

Masculine Birthday Card

Hello and Welcome!
Today I have a masculine card for you and it happens to be a birthday card to boot!
For my card I chose to use the Vintage Blue Glitz paper pack. I cut strips of dsp at 1 1/2" x 4" and used my corner punch on opposite corners. My stamps are from Stampin' Up! Hostess Set Wacky Wishes #126412.
What I really like about this set is you can start with "wishing you a" and you can choose from Valentines, Birthday, Easter, Halloween and Christmas and then there's a bonus stamp for Thank You! That's right 7 stamps in this set! Gotta love volume. Heehee.

The brad is something I found in my stash. But I love the little jewels on it. Hey! Who says guys don't like a little bling every now and again. :O)

CTD226

This is Color Throw Down Challenge #226 entry.

I had a hard time trying to figure out how to photograph this card. I tried it in a plate stand but I didn't like it. So I laid it flat and I still don't like it but it was a better shot than the other so, what you see is what you get. The photo, however, doesn't do the card justice. I find I feel that way a lot about my shots. I NEED a better lens, better light, or maybe just a better eye behind the camera. This card was stamped using Stampin' Up! God's Beauty. It's a retired set but it still has relevance in my opinion. I didn't use a sentiment because I haven't decided yet, what occassion I will use this card for. I think it would work for Valentine's Day, Easter, Mother Day, Sympathy, Anniversary or even a birthday. I used Stampin' Up! Labels Collection Framelits to cut the card base and the image.

SoftPencil Tuesday

Today we are featuring the Easter Chick digital image. For my project this week I wanted to show you 3 different ways  you can color your digital images.
The first one below is colored with Copics Markers.

The one below is colored using KOH-I-NOOR woodless color pencils and a blender pen.

Finally the one below is colored using Stampin' Up! Watercolor Crayons and an Aqua Painter.

Of the 3 techniques I believe the Stampin' Up! Watercolor Crayons is my favorite.
Which is yours?

Be sure to check out the rest of the SoftPencil Studios DT's creations. You can reach them via SoftPencil Studios Blog or just simply by going to their links in my side bar.

Easter Blessings - CPS110

Easter Blessings - was created using the Springtime Vintage dsp #121782 and the Wild Wasabi, Very Vanilla and Sahara Sand cs with the Crosses of Hope stamp#120567 which I colored with my Stampin' Write Markers in Wild Wasabi, Baha Breeze and Marina Mist. The sentiment is from the Easter Blossoms set. Once I had colored my cross I spritzed it with a little rubbing alcohol with some of the Champagne Mist Shimmer Paint #116806 mixed in to give it a little sparkle (hard to see in photo but believe me, a little goes a LONG way). Ribbon is Wild Wasabi as well.

This card was created with sketch #110 from CardPatterns Sketches.

Easter Blossoms - JFF

Don't know why this has a blue hue. But anyway, this is the Easter Blossoms set (122057 Clear, 121905 Wood). The little girl is stamped in Versa Mark clear ink onto a glossy cardstock. Then she is heat embossed with WHITE embossing powder. Then I sponged Cameo Coral and Regal Rose all over her going lightly across the bottom and heavier across the mid to upper portion of the background. Then I stamped the flowering branch in this same set in Versa Mark and heat embossed with White embossing powder. I followed the same sponging effect over the branches. I stamped Happy Easter sentiment in Versa Mark on Crumb Cake cardstock and heat embossed with white embossing powder. I totally LOVE this card!!! Thanks to Deb Segler for showing me how to make it! Loves Ya Girl!

Remember to order this set before March 30 and if you order $50 or more you get a FREE SET!

SoftPencil - Molly, Timmy and Baby Chick

Molly, Timmy & Baby Chick is just one of the sweet images SoftPencil Designs has issued for the Easter holidays. I used watercolor pencils and my blender pen on this one. I love the little bunny ears. Aren't they just the cutest. I added a few Stampin' Up! elements to my card. The cardstock is Elegant Eggplant and Rich Razzleberry. I embossed the Rich Razzleberry with the Elegant Bouquet ef. Oh and the little tag is Always Artichoke and Whisper White. The stamped sentiment is from Crosses of Hope set and stamped in Elegant Eggplant ink.

Easter Basket - Zack's Class

Zackary attends St. Joseph's Catholic School in Bryan, TX. I as his Nana and the crafty one in the family, always make treats for Zack and his classmates for the holiday parties. Halloween and Christmas were really big productions. Valentine's Day found me in hospital. His mom made Beignets for Mardi Gras. We skipped St. Patty's Day as he is out for Spring break and visiting me now. That brings us to Easter. I ordered these clear acrylic carrots in February. So after Zack got here I sent my hubs into the local superK(roger) to purchase Jelly Belly Beans in bulk. Maybe that was a mistake - note to self, Jelly Belly Jelly Beans cost $6.49 per lb. in bulk. Hubs being hubs, he bought what he was told to buy. $44 and some change later we had 3 bags of Jelly Belly Beans - 2 tangerine and 1 green apple. Well, as is with kids, those 3 bags of jelly beans and those acrylic carrots drove Zackary a little cookee. So Tuesday morning we got up early, drove Poppa to work and buzzed over to Mrs. Sue's house for a play date, with the favor supplies in tow. Sue had some tangerine and some green curling ribbon so we were ready to rock this project out. Zack was in charge of the filling of the carrots (2 scoops of tangerine and one scoop of green apple), fold the tabs in and close. Sue cut the ribbons, I tied the ribbons on and Sue made the ribbons curl! Don't they look cute in this little basket!

I cut my cardstock with the peony die and then I added some Petaloo flowers and I punched the leaves out of cardstock. Please be sure to check out the DT's creations. happiness always & Happy Easter - PPC-CC50 DT

Here are my two creations for the Picture Perfect Creations - Color Combo Challenge #50 - Early Espresso, Peach Parfait, & Pretty in Pink. Sometimes I really suck at these color combo challenges. Other times they just fall right into line. This one was a challenge for me, mostly because I didn't have anything Peach Parfait. So I matched it as closely as I possibly could. The second card was actually my 1st attempt. I liked it but found I wasn't "IN LOVE" with it. The first card was done last and I found I "Loved" it just a little bit more. :O)

Easter Blessings - Jazzy's Paper Designs#5. Below is the CD cover we used for inspiration. Very colorful and spring like don't you think?
You may recognize this card from a week back. I had made it using Jazzy's cd inspiration but the card was for SketchForYouToTry#32. The floral cardstock is from DCWV The Crafty Stack. The image is from The Stamping Boutique. The cross is from Spellbinders. I used the Peony Nesties to cut my half circle in Jen's sketch. I also matted my image with a piece I cut with a smaller peony die. I added some flowers and buttons with ribbon and twine. My little heart was picked up on Sunday in a little boutique in Quinlan, TX called Ray Lai Lane. On Jen's sketch there was a large ribbon or border on one side. I used 4 different pieces of ribbon to create this element. Kaiser Rhinestones add a little bling to my Easter fairy and her 'dust'. Image is colored with Copics in shades of pink, purple, orange and red.
Now you may have noticed in the title of this post I am sponsoring Jazzy's challenge this week. Below is a pic of what I am giving away to one lucky winner!
