SPECIAL REQUEST ---

The card on the left is the card I made for Jayme and the card or the right is a little gift to her. These are a special RAK for Jayme.

Lisa Cook is having this call for a special RAK request for her Sister. When I read this post I knew I had to jump in and make something for her sister Jayme. Nobody like to be in hospital for any length of time but we all know what a great gift a card can be.

Below is Lisa's post:
I am having a special event for my sister Jayme. She is in her early 50's and has terminal lung cancer. To make it worse, her sweet dachshund Molly passed away a couple weeks ago. Today we learned her cancer has spread to several other areas and her time is running out. I am asking for all my card making friends to send her a fun card...not really get well cards obviously, but something pretty or funny that will make her smile. She is a frog collector so frog cards would be awesome! I have been blessed by all those I design for to have a wonderful offer of blog candy. Details are below on how to enter. I will choose a winner June 2nd.

For this special request she also made a special stamp that is a freebie. So go over HERE to see more details and help her with this special request.

DEETS on my cards:
'knee deep' - SoftPencil digital images (not yet available in her shop), Basic Grey dp, Copics, Zva corduroy brads, Making Memories epoxy flowers, Inksentials Glossy Accents. Inside sentiment - yes, Jayme this card is 'knee deep' in happy thoughts and good wishes for you.

It's your birthday! - SoftPencil digital images (not yet available in her shop). The card started off as a double flap tag card. I added a pocket to the inside using paper piercing and handstitching.
These 2 cards showcase the versatility of Elizabeth's images. The first card the image is handcolored with Copics. The second card the image is digitally colored using a computer program.

The stamps are from kit a month club and so is the rhinestone brad. Ribbon is American Crafts. I used my SU corners punch and created the little square windows.

Here's my creation for the Blog Hop! I used Elizabeth's Chapel box template and added the delicate feeling medallion digi. Using PaintShopPro I copied and pasted the medallion image onto the chapel box. Then I printed it out and colored with Copics. This box is so cute! You can resize it to make a small, medium, large or extra large box. You just print the template out twice and cut; glue the two bottom squares together and voila! You can even print it on designer paper (NOTE*** print on the back side of the designer paper so that your lines don't show on the outside of your box).

The next stop on the hop will be Lisa's blog. So hop on over there to see what lovelies she's created. Thanks for hopping in.

Keep Hopping, I know you'll love what everyone has for you in the form of EYE CANDY!

ENJOY - SNB#8

ENJOY - StretchNBubbles #8 sketch challenge. Sorry my picutre is so wonky. I used the Spellbinders Label #4 then I cut it in half to make the two ends. I used the *FREE* Nessy image from StretchNBubbles. I digitally colored him and printed him out. Then I used my Olive Copic marker and traced around the image and the eyes. I colored his eyes with Copics. The circle background is an ef, I then inked with white ink and heat set some clear embossing powder. I took some foil paper and white the embossing powder was still wet I laid the foil over and rubbed with a soft sponge. My ribbon is from American Crafts.

with love - CinemaSaturdayCreativeChallenge #80 - Becoming Jane and flowers.
I used my Cuttlebug and a piece of kraft cardstock. Ran the cardstock through my bug with the Victoria ef (Note*** my sentiment is also an ef). Then I smudged some mellow moss and only orange all over the raised areas. I cut my stem from a scrap piece of dp from Basic Grey. My flowers are also from Basic Grey dp. Holy Bat Guano BatMan! I totally forgot...

Can you believe me? I totally forgot to upload my card for Jazzy's Paper Designs DT assignment. Sheesh! Well, only excuse I have is old age is creeping up on me. Sorry Jazzy. :O(

Anyhoo, this week we are playing with the art work CD cover of Bob Brookmeyer. I was entranced by the geometrics on this cover. I also loved the color combo! So I went with the ovals that are so prevalent in the image and cut my ovals and layered them. This is a tri-fold card. Stamps and punch are Stampin' Up!
If you need a little more inspiration from Mr. Brookmeyer check out this video!

live with passion - S411CI

live with passion - Stamping411 Color Inspiration. I don't believe this was a real challenge in the normal sense where you use a color palette for inspiration and then once your card is created you post it to a specific link-er location. But it was a challenge for me. I was blog hopping in no particular order or pattern, when I came across Stamping 411. The post for Thursday, May 20, 2010 was a card created using basic black, pink passion, only orange and green galore as well as the 1980s as inspiration. I did go with the colors, however I did forego the 80's infusion. Here is my creation using the color pallette dictated as well as a couple sets of stamps I recently purchsed used.
So I stamped the grass fisrt in green galore. Then I stamped the stems and leaves with green galore and mellow loss. Then I stamped the flowers with only orange and pink passion. Then I used my Copic marker E29 to add the brown to my flowers. I sponged brown Stampabilities along the edges and lightly over the entire card face. I stamped the itty bitty backgrounds stamp randomly all over the card face.

Her name is ChicClucker with Umbrella and can be purchased HERE. I drew the puddle in as an after thought so the image you purchase won't have any puddle. If you would like the image with the puddle I can create a new design for you. I used my silver gel pen to represent my raindrops and shimmers on the puddle.

CardSketchesByZacksNana Trish's Sunday Sketch

Hi There:
Once a month I post a sketch challenge for my group on Yahoo. But every Sunday my sweet friend, Trish Davey, from across the pond in Oz posts a sketch for my group to play with. This is the Sunday May 9 sketch and my creation using the sketch. I just purchased this Sweet Scoops stamp set from Stampin' Up! and wanted to get it inky. So I stamped my "SCOOPS" with VersaMark on colored cardstock. Then I added my minty bits to my mint choco -chip, my strawberries to my strawberries and cream and my choco chips to my choco chip cookie dough ice creams and heat embossed. My bowl is punched from some Basic Grey dp. The ribbon is ki memories and the flower is s e i . I was inspired by not only the sketch but a card I saw in the summer mini catalog from Stampin' Up!

Howdy! - S411SSC150

Howdy! - Stamping 411 - Saturday Sketch Challenge #150. Another first time play for me. I used some of my Mother's Day goodies my hubs bought me on this one: the little cowboy image, the Howdy sentiment and the ocre flowers. Basic Grey granola is my dp. I used my distressing tool and distressed the edges of my dp. I also inked the edges of my cardstock. I paper pierced the matte and the image. My ribbon was a pale silver satin. I needed it green or blue to match my dp. I didn't have any denim colored ink so I used my mellow moss ink pad and drug the ribbon across to get it the shade I needed. I colored the little cowboy with my Copics.

Gone a fishing - Just Fer Fun! CCC8

Congratulations on your retirement - I have laid aside business and gone a fishing. I just did this card for fun. I found these stamps in a box and they had NEVER been inked up so I felt I had to do them some justice. I created this card. Guess what, it SOLD! Yeppers, site unseen.
Deets: I stamped the trout with Stampibilities brown and heat embossed. Then I brayered a piece of whisper white cardstock with only orange, mellow moss, green galore and creamy caramel till I have the color pattern of ornage-y brown on the belly and lighter to darker green on the back and side. I added bugle beads and Signo white gel to the blue cardstock to simulate water glistening. I fashioned a hook for a piece of wire and hung it on a thread of rope adding a red bead for my bobber. For the sentiment on the base of the cardstock I stamped my sentiment in Stamabilities brown and heat embossed. I cut with a die and while the cs was still in the die I sponged coordinating colors. I punched 3 holes and added the black brads. Done, done and done!
Entered in the Crafty Calendar Challenge #8 for the month of May. The theme is "The Great Outdoors".

Welcome - FCC61 & FS101

Welcome - From Courtney's Closet #61. Sweet little Courtney in her tutu was our inspiration this week. My image is a stamp from Inkadinkadoo. I stamped it with Stampibilities Brown and heat embossed. Then I used my aqua pen and painted SU creamy caramel, mellow moss and ballet blue. I mixed the ballet blue and the mellow moss to get the right color for my eggs. Then I just dipped my aqua pen alternately in the ballet blue and the moss green and painted my background.
For my frame I followed Beate's Folded Paper Frame video tutorial. Then I added an extra layer of framing with a 4 x 4 piece of my dp. Then I matted it all on another piece of my dp at 5.25 x 5.25.
I added buttons, twine and ribbon embellies and called it DONE!

Thursday was just....

One of those days. I woke up and was feeling some aches and pains; my acheilles tendon in my right foot is hurting me again. My left hip was giving me fits and I just felt achy all over the place.
I had it in my head I was going to start a beef stew in my crock pot and let it cook all day. So I got the meat and the chopped onions and the chicken stock and placed it all in the crock pot and turned it on. 4 hours later, I decide it's time to put the potatoes and carrots in. Well, guess what. The danged crock pot was not plugged in! Thank goodness that stew meat was frozen when I put it in the pot. Otherwise I'd have had to toss the whole thing in the trash. Luckily for me the air conditioner is set somewhere around 72 and the kitchen is the coldest place in the house, when nothing is cooking. TA!
Anyhoo, I am off to bed now. Tomorrow's got to be a better day!

See yas on the flip side.

Let's Get Together - CTD91

Let's Get Together - Color Throw Down #91 tempting torquoise, rose red, kiwi kiss.
This card was created for the Color Throw Down. My base is an 8.5 x 5.5 inch piece of torquoise. I scored and folded the base piece at 2.25, and 4.5 inches. Then I cut my double sided designer paper at 2 inches wide each. Double sided dp is the two patterns that you see here. I stamped my Stampabilities hummingbird with rose red and heat embossed it. Then I stamped my impressrubberstamps.com hibiscus flower with Brilliance pearlescent lime and Stampin' Up! rose red. Then I heat embossed them both. To thread my ribbon through I cut small slits; one in the fold of my card and then another on the dp piece I stamped the sentiment and hummingbird on. I left the piece on the front loose to flap. But since this card is seen straight on, you could probably use double sided tape and tape it down. Then the card could stay as is or you could matte it onto a piece of card stock so that it could open and you could put additional sentiment inside. I haven't decided if I will add the cardstock or leave as is.

This card was created specifically for Libby's Texas Tues - step challenge this week and for Taylored Expressions. I used a piece of craft paper and I brayered some creamy caramel ink over the bottom portion of my paper masking off the top portion. After I brayered I removed the mask. Then I stamped the horses. Then I stamped the fence post. Then I stamped the greeting. I then got my aqua painter and added some color to my cowboy hat and the greeting. Then I used my silver Permapaque' and colored my stars and added some dots on my barbed wire to make it have a little shine on it. Then I tore some of the edges and distressed with CTMH distress ink. Lastly I added my ribbon and slide to look like a belt with a buckle.

Get Well - CPS62

Get Well - Card Patterns Sketches #62. This week's sketch is being sponsored by HeroArts.com
I used some scraps from Pink Paislee to make my card. I also used another of my Cuttlebug tissue flowers. Stamps are Stampin' Up! and I used Stampin' Up! ink pads with my aqua painter to color my flowers. Sentiment is a Rhonna Farrer rub on.
