About my Thanksgiving...
Well, if the truth be known, I did take some digis with me to color. Unfortunately I totally forgot to do my SoftPencil assignment for today, while I was away playing at the little cabin in the east Texas Piney Woods. Hubs and I had a wonderful time with our kids and our grandson, nieces and nephew, my sis and my parents and 9 dogs!!! Actually there are two cabins. :O) We fished and played dominoes, ate like food was going out of style and laughed till our sides hurt. But it was all gloriously fun!
Here's a little taste of what we did...

Baked Gingerbread Cookies...

Fished with my favorite little grandboy, Zack. Zack caught at least 1 doz. fish over the Thanksgiving holiday.

Sat on Santa's lap in Mineola, Tx. Told him what he wants for Christmas.

Stopped on the Square in Canton. The courthouse square was totally decked out for Christmas!

Hubs and me, reelin' and dealin'! I caught this baby! Isn't it a beaut! This catfish weighed in at a little over 3 pounds and was caught using a little itty bitty hook for small mouth fishies... Ok, this is not my Glamour Shots, o-kaaaaay!

happy holidays - weeM31

happy holidays was created for the Wee Memories Challenge #31 use patterned papers. I used several from the same set. But don't ask me what they are because they came in a CupCardsToGo kit. In fact everything but the ribbon, cardstock and image came from the kit.
I added Stickles to glitz it up a bit and I just love the stick pin that came in the kit too.

Howdy! from Texas

LTXTS12 - This is not an old postcard. It's a new piece of crumb cake cardstock that was burned with my heat tool. I added some Stampin' Up! stamps and from a fellow cow hand, Deadbeat Mark. This was fun to do but I almost gave my family a heart attack when they smelled something burning! I assured them everything was ok. I used my aqua painter to color the state. Inks used are early espresso, cajun craze, cherry cobbler, and marina mist. If you were born in Texas, or born elsewhere (like me) but got here as fast as you could, or if you just like Texana, then we welcome you to play along with us on Texas Tuesdays. Texas Tuesdays are every 1st & 3rd Tuesday of the month. Just create something Texas-y and post it to your blog and leave your link in the comments and we'll go check it out!

Yo-Da Man! Zack's 7th Birthday~~~

Yoda Cake  &  Just one of the 100+ photos taken of the Happy Birthday Boy!
That is Zack's buddy Josiah on the left in the lime green shirt and Alex on the right. I got tons of compliments on my Yoda. I was disappointed in how he turned out myself. But he seemed to be a hit with everyone; children and grownups alike.

I've been making my grandson, Zackary's birthday cakes since he turned 3. As soon as I find pictures I will add them to this post.

Zack's 6th birthday party was at the ice skating rink in College Station. This was his cake.

2fer - C4C62

2fer - Crazy4Challenges #62 - make a square card! I made two because I wanted to make the Santa card but I hadn't inked up the polar bears yet and just felt I "neeeeeeded" to! So you get 2 fer 1 here today.
The Santa was stamped in cherrty cobbler and marina mist. He's matted with real red and love letter dp. The base is pacific point.
The polar bears are from MFT. I colored them with Stampin' Up! markers and used my blender brush to move some of the marina mist into the bears' bodies. They are matted on pacific point. Then I used a piece of bashful blue in the snow dots ef.

Tags, tags, everywhere tags... PCS21

Challenge 21 Opens Wednesday
Tags! - at Paper Craft Star this week we had a photo for inspiration in challenge #21. The photo has many shades of blue, lots of white, some tan and some green. I think the only color I used that was not in the palette was the reds. I guess I could have left them out but they were all created at the same time so I put them in too. I wish my house looked as beautiful as the sample photo but I live in north central Texas and this photo looks a little beachy to me. :O)

Cinema Saturday's 100th Challenge & MOJO164 - Pride & Prejudice

Season's Greetings - for Cinema Saturday #100 & MOJO MONDAY#164. The movie is Pride & Prejudice. Although my card doesn't reflect the movie very much I did you a lacey stencil to create my dp. I also used the Victorian embossing folder for the backdrop for my image. I used as many Stampin' Up! products as I could get my hands on that related to the challenges.

Merry Little Christmas - CPS89

Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas - Card Patterns Sketches #89. I don't normally like these sketches with the little multiple images. It's just not my thing. But I had these little stamps my friend Deb gave me and they weren't really big enough to do anything else with. Except stamp on the outside of my Christmas card envelopes. But I rememebered my make your own brads and although the entire images didn't fit in the brads, I think enough did so they work. Hope you like my card.

heartfelt wishes - weeM30

heartfelt wishes - wee Memories Blog Birthday Bash Challenge. Make a birthday card. My card is CAS. I used Stampin' Up! regal rose  ink on very vanilla cardstock and I mounted that onto crumb cake cardstock. Sentiment is from Stampin' Up! set Always in my Thoughts. I stamped the image onto the scalloped circle punched very vanilla. Then I stamped it again on a rectangular piece of very vanilla. I used dimensionals to raised the scalloped circle off the rectangle. I adhered a piece of hot pink ricrack behind the left side of my retangle. I added a little piece of the ricrack and a button under my sentiment to help your eye travel around the face of my card.

Can't get any simpler...

Stampin' Up! cardstock - very vanilla and real red.
I used a 3" scalloped circle punch and punched the red disc. Then I cut my real red base 8.5 x 5.5" and folded in half at 4.25". I cut the very vanilla at 4 x 5.25". I adhered the 3 strips of ribbon to the back of the very vanilla cardstock. I used double sided tape to adhere the disc to the card. Then I used dimensionals to attach the little reindeer chipboard pieces. Glued on my buttons with TomBow Mono and called this one DONE!

Another Day with Deb...

We made 8 cards today but I forgot one at Deb's house so I only have 7 to show you. So grab a cuppa and get comfy cause you make be here a little while! :O)

This first set of cards I CASED off the the cover of the Stampin' Up! Idea Book & Catalog. They used strips of paper and I used a piece of our designer paper. The dp in this paper pad comes in the "In Color" series of papers which includes - peach parfait, poppy parade, pear pizzaz, concorn crush and blushing bride. I used SU cardstock to match. I used the pear pizzaz and poppy parade on my cards and Deb used concord crush and blushing bride on hers. The dp was cut using the Top Note die. The stamp is from Grateful Greetings.

This card features SU dp from last Christmas. They work so well together and even compliment with new "In Color" pear pizzaz cardstock. I am not sure which set this stamp comes from but it too, it SU.

This card uses more of last year's dp.  Again I am not sure which stamp sets were used but they are SU.

This one features the new SU fabric! It was die cut on the zigzag and then ruffled on some double sided strip tape.

This card features a lovely punched tree. It used last year's dp too. The stamps are from SU and are from the Bells and Boughs set.

This card is just punched gold, silver and red cardstock with ribbon and a sentiment that is heat embossed.

My favorite one is the one that got away so to speak. I forgot it at Deb's house. So be watching because as soon as I can get it from her I will be posting it. YOU ARE GONNA LOVE IT!

If' you've made it through to here, Thanks! I hope you enjoyed looking at my creations. Most of these cards started with something I saw in a magazine and as Deb says, I "put my own twist on it".

Play Day with Deb Segler - what we made...

This is the card I taught her. Stampin' Up! cardstock - crumb cake, real red, daffodil delight, garden green and pear pizzaz. Stampin' Up! ink - early espresso. Stampin' Up! stamps Always Elegant and Grateful Greetings.
Here's what Deb taught me. This little dress was made using the Scallop Circle die #113468. Once you've had die cut the scallop circle, then you cut angel wings off both sides of the dress to make this shape.
Stampin' Up! die - Scallop Circle. Stampin' Up! cardstock - very vanilla. Stampin' Up! dp - blueberry crisp.
We really had a blast today and can't wait to get back together agains soon!
Thanks Deb for all the laughs and tears and all the ideas!!!
