Thinking of You - JPDC4 Prize will be given away!!!

Thinking of You - Jazzy's Paper Designs Challenge #4. My card above and the inspiration below. Our assignment this week is to use this CD cover for inspiration. I got the colors right away and then the layout of the cover just really played a big part in laying out my card. I love punches and ribbons. So I incorporated them both in this creation. The base, and accent cardstocks are all from a Tuesday Morning's sale bin ($3.99). The pack of cardstock is called Mocha and it features 24 sheets of 12 x 12 patterned cardstock. The orange piece is from Stampin' Up! The sentiment is from Sweet `N Sassy Stamps and the circle frame is a stamp from Kaiser. I stamped them both in Stampabilities Black and heat embossed with clear embossing powder. I am lovin' the way my card turned out. Although I was looking for a "Deepest Sympathy" stamp. I know I have one, it's just to find the darn thing!

Please come and join in the fun at Jazzy's Paper Designs Challenge #4! This week my Co-Design Team Member Janice is sponsoring us and Janice will be awarding some lucky creator some nice BLOG CANDY! Also, at the end of the week, the DT votes on their favorite creation and that winner gets to be Jazz Cat of the Week and guest designer for the next challenge. So COME & PLAY, you could be a WINNER!

You do too much... - CSCC68

Hi There!
Well, I hope you are having a great Sunday. Mine is going well. It has been a pretty quiet weekend around here and so I took the opportunity to try out the Cinema Saturday Creative Challenge #68. The movie for this challenge is Spiderman. Now, I have seen them all and I like them. But this one challenge did present me with some obstacles. My mind was set on using this quote from the movie, "You do too much. You're not Superman you know," Peter Parker's Grandmother said this to him. I know the movie is sort of a drama, but after all, it's based on a comic book. So I went for the comedic side of it. The little super hero is a stamped image from My Favorite Things. I stamped him once in his regular state on white cardstock. Then the twist in the challenge was to use a little or a lot of acetate. So I stamped his super hero costume on the acetate and then used Copics to color. I cut my spider with my Cricut and colored with Spica. The web is an embossing folder, but it was a rak I. I highlighted the web with my glittery silver gel pen. The little boy was adhered directly to the web. The acetate is attached with red brads. I like that it is transparent, that way you can see the little boy behind the costume. The spider and the sentiment are raised off the acetate with foam dots. The base of my card is from Basic Grey.
This is the sentiment inside my card...

Happy Easter - PCPCUTTLEBUG-ERS Challenge #62 & C4C26

Hello Again! Hope your weekend is going well. Mine has been pretty nice! Warmer temps and nice sunshine.
This card was created for Crazy4Challenges #26 (it's all about texture) & for my PCP CUTTLEBUG-ERS Group Challenge #62. I asked the group to The challenge is to make a Nestie Pop-Up card. Using Ikki's POP UP CARD tutorial. For my card I used the QuickKuts Egg die set and one of the dies from the Balloon set. The cardstock is from Crate Paper. This cardstock is two sided; one pattern and one solid. I ran pieces of three different patterns through the Cuttlebug cutting vaious sizes and then using the Victoria embossing folder. I layered them on top of each other. After embossing I used some Encore Metallic Inks in matching colors on the eggs.

The branch and blossoms are from a sheet of die cuts also from Crate Paper.

The sentiment stamp is from Stampin' Up! and is stamped in Encore! Metallic Ink.

Just for Fun! Easter Bonnet $10

I was playing around with PaintShopPro and I created this little template for a bonnet card.
I printed the bonnet 2ce: once on plain white cardstock and once on a pattern piece of cardstock from DCWV The Whimsy Stack.
This little bonnet so puts me in the mood for Spring and Easter! Below you can see the inside of my card and the sentiment I added is from Judy Garland in Easter Parade.

wonderful Mother - SSS44

Some days, nothing goes right! I wanted to use 3 matching green flowers on my card and I could only find two that match and then one scraggler from some place else. But even tho they didn't match perfectly I think they will do in a pinch. :O) I embossed 3 pieces of lime cardstock with different folders. Then I sanded them to show the white. Then I rubbed a ColorBox Chalk ink pad in Rouge over the white parts. I used the Stampin' Up! stamp wonderful Mother from the Well Scripted set on my 4th piece of lime cardstock. The little lacy bits are from Bazzill's - Just the Edge cardstock strips. It was a wave pattern I used my Martha Stewart lace border punch on. I love my border punches so. But this one gives me fits. It doesn't really like cardstock so much. So I have to wiggle it and punch, punch, punch until I hear it click. I like the way it all turned out any way. This card was based off The Sweet Stop's SSS44 sketch challenge with a twist to Think Spring. I got it! :O)

small Wonder - ICS55

A simple card for a simple sketch. I could see these being created in multiples. The sketch is from Inspirational Card Sketches #55. Loved this sketch and I love green so the two together makes for a pretty terrific outcome!

I stamped the flowers in varying shades of orange and then came back over with ColorBox Cat's Eyes in heliotrope, lime, scarlet, orange, marigold & canary. I stamped the Swirls twice; once in ColorBox chalk in Olive Pastel and once in CTMH New England Ivy. I heatd embossed all the flowers and the swirls with clear embossing powder.

Miss You - SSCCCCA18 & SDC#10

Miss You! Firstly I saved Stacey's inspiration image to my computer. Then I used PaintShopPro to flood fill the spots on the turtle's shell. Then I printed this little digi 4 times and pieced her together for a 3D effect. The card is a 2fer for Stampin' Stacey's Curtain Call Color Challenge #18 and the image is from Simple DoodlesChallenge #10 (sponsoring Jazzy's Challenge this week). I had cut the clouds and added some silver glitter gel pen to them to show them off. The navy ribbon is felt and has some little cut out dragonflies in it. The little flowers were a crocheted lace I cut up into little pieces to place them in various locations. The sentiment is from JustRite Stamps and the cabuchons are from Mark Richards. Stacey's colors are: Night of Navy, Old Olive, Whisper White, Kraft and Ballet Blue.

hoppy Easter - Squigglefly Digi Day Fun!

Hi There!
Well, this is a fun one! An adorable image from Squigglefly and a funny, fun sentiment (below)! As well as a terrific challenge from the creators of Squigglefly! (unfortunately I missed the deadline to play along). :O(
This little cupcake and bunny image is a digi and I printed it 3 times and cut and popped up different pieces to make it 3D. The image originally had a heart on the end of the little stick. I used my QuickCutz Nesting Balloons (smallest size) to cut the egg for the stick and the cover sentiment. I cut them on white cardstock and colored them with Copics and silver glitter gel pen. The plaid paper is from the ki Memories paper pack I got for Christmas from my girls. The pink & yellow cardstock are from Stampin' Up! The border punch is from EK Success. The ribbon was from another Christmas gift (the ribbon was tied around a set of dish towels and pot holders).
Below is the inside. Sentiment reads : Do you know what's silent and smells like milk chocolate?
bunny farts. (The Easter Bunny is lactose intolerant.) *** Giving credit where credit is due... this sentiment is not my own. Some cleaver writer from American Greetings produced it! :O)
More die cut eggs on the inside.

Amanda & Garrett - CSCC67, TESC101

Inside is a side step card.
Happy Wedding Day to Amanda & Garrett! It's still another week or 2 away but I wanted to get the card made and ready to be sent.
I used the Cinema Saturday Creative Challenge (movie featured this week is Tristan & Isold) color combination and gate fold challenge. The cover is based on Taylored Expressions sketch challenge #101. Although I didn't use any dragonflies on this card, I do intend to make a few cards for Taylor's Dragonfly Card Drive.
There's lots of bling and flowers on this card. I used the KaiserCraft stamp set CS720 - Flowers & CS702 - Circles. KaiserCraft - pink rhinestones. Ink for stamping images is Encore! Ultimate Metallic - COPPER. More Mark Richards adhesive backed Cabuchon Crystal Stickers in brown, pink and cream. Spellbinders - Borderabilities - Lattice die. Cardstock - Stampin' Up! Inside:
Meet Gidget! She's comin' your way to cheer you up when you aren't feelin' too "Groovy". I used these hip pattern papers from Basic Grey's Lime Rickey paper pad. These patterns lend themselves well to a 70's (RETRO) themed card. And when your sick or hurt or just feelin' icky, what better way to perk up than with this cutsie image of the 'Gidge'? I'm sure Moon Doggie is howlin' bout now! :O)
I created this funky Get Well card for Friday Sketchers challenge #90. This week the challenge is sponsored by none other than Gidget's creators InStyle Stamps! Sentiments are my own creations and computer generated.

happiness Always - PCP CUTTLEBUG-ERS #60

I can't believe we are up to challenge #60! But we are and I found, through visiting a random blog stroll Ikki's Cuttlebug Cupboard and this card in paticular.
She did her card a little differently but for the most part the directions are the same.
Below are my instructions following Ikki's guidelines.

First I used the D'Vine Swirls folder across the card embossed, lightly inked and added 2 score lines.

The 2 half circles DO NOT OPEN. They were made by cutting the 2nd largest scalloped circle, which I embossed with the Victoria folder and slightly inked and matted on a piece of light blue I cut with the largest pinked circle die. Then cut in half. By punching 2 eyelets and joining together with ribbon from the scalloped edge - you get the effect that it will open. I stamped the "happiness Always" sentiment using the Whimsical Words set from Stampin' Up!

Ikki also says, "If you used vellum or a lightweight paper you could wrap a full circle round the card."

So PAPERCRAFTPLANET CUTTLEBUG-ERS CHALLENGE #60 is to emboss, emboss and cut...

Clueless - Cinema Saturday66 & Crazy 4 Challenges24

This is Lewis and when it comes to girls... he's CLUELESS, Like Totally!!!

Lewis was created for the 66th Cinema Saturday Creative Challenge. The movie spotlighted this week is Clueless and the extra challenge is to use plaid somewhere. Well, I used a tiny little bit on the tag, however inside I used a larger piece of the plaid behind the cocoa colored cardstock which holds the sentiment, Like Totally! I also used the Crazy4Challenges#24 theme this week which is RED.

My base is from Crate Paper. The pale blue - ish cardstock is from DCWV The Doodlin' Around stack. As is the pattern paper that is on top of that. Lewis is a digi from Prairie Fairy Designs and is colored with Stampin' Up!, Copic and Spica markers. The sentiment is computer generated.

The challenge this week is being sponsored by Simple Doodles Digital Stamps and there's going to be prizes awarded picked at random with Mr. Linky!! So please play along! We'd love to see what you create. Come join the fun! You could be crowned "Jazz Cat of the Week" for this challenge!! All you have to do is make a card, scrapbook page or 3-D project and add it to Mr. Linky by February 20, 2010 by 8pm MST to be eligible for the Jazz Cat of the Week (Guest Designer-the DT chooses the jazziest card of the challenge) and to be randomly chosen for the prize!! Thanks for checking out the challenge and have a great Saturday!!

Here's my card sorry it's dark. :O( I am STILL having camera issues. My heart card is a gate fold. My card opened, with inside sentiment.

DEETS:

1. Using my Scor - Pal and an 8.5 x 11 inch pice of white cardstock. I scored at 2.5and again at 6.75 inches. Fold. Then I trimmed the excess away from the two flaps so that they would meet in the front middle. Then I ran my cardstock through my Cuttlebug with my largest Spellbinders Nestibilities Heart. **** Note if you attempt to make this card, be careful with the placement of the Nestie on the edges of the cardstock, you need to have enough room to create your hinges. Don't Cut Them Off! :O)
2. I used a piece of decorative paper and the next smaller Nestie and ran it though the Cuttlebug. Then I cut it in half and this made my card cover.
3. I printed my digis from Simple Doodles; the bee and the sentiment and big red heart inside. I colored the bees with my Copics and I added some silver glitter gel pen to the wings and some gold Spica to his belly and to the inside sentiment. My little bee is suspended on wire. 4. I cut a blue heart from the next smaller Nestie and then I also used it to cut my inside sentiment. I layered the white on the blue and layered them both on top of my Simple Doodles heart. The heart had three little black dots on the lower right hand side, I punched holes and added 2 white and a black brad. I used the gold Spica to drip honey on my sentiment.
5. I embellished the front flaps with my Simple Doodles Bee, Imaginisce flowers, rhinestones and some stickers from Keep in Touch kits.

Happy Easter - SCS Weekly Inkling #196 - Beate's Folded Paper Frame

I saw Beate's creation in the SplitCoastStampers Weekly Inkling #196 ( Beate's tutorial ) and I just wanted to give it a whirl! What do you think?I'm lovin' the way it turned out. Although, unlike Beate I didn't notice I was s'posed to use a two sided pattern paper for the frame. So I had to adhere two pieces back to back. So my folds aren't a clean and crisp as Beate's. I STILL love mine!

I used 3 decorative brads on the lower right and attached my sentiment frame with one more. The copper paper is a found piece, {it came with a gift card as a Christmas gift}. Happy Birthday - LLWWC25

Happy Thursday to you! It's snowing in north central Texas this morning! Guess Tuxapawny Phil knows his stuff! :O)
Today's card is pretty simple and fairly basic. I used a FREE digi from Layers of Color. There stamps are very ornate and just plain GORGEOUS!!!
I felt this bird had a hippy style feel to it so I used lots of color. Everything you see is Stampin' Up! except got the rhinestones. The card is for my niece Jenny's 30-something birthday which is tomorrow and my card will be late. Jenny sings lead vocals in a band in Austin, TX. I think this image suits her!
Deets: I used the Top Note die and cut out the center of the kraft cardstock for a frame. Then I cut the same die into my pink cardstock. Then I tore away long the perforation. I matted the pink on the piece of kraft. I added my stamps and heat embossed. My bird was popped up on dimensional adhesives. I used the heart border punch along the edge and I used the excess from the pink I behind the little hearts. I added some rhinestones and VOILA!

My card was created for the La-La Weekly Wednesday Challenge #25. Lisa Hjulberg has a whopper of a challenge for us--NO DESIGNER PAPER! You can do it!! Think cuttlebug... think distressed edges... think doodling some borders! There's lots of possibilities! Hello La-La Land Crafters!! Welcome to La-La's Weekly Wednesday Challenge!!

My name is Lisa Hjulberg, and I'm thrilled to be back as your hostess for this week's challenge. Before we get to that, I'd like to extend our thanks to each of you who played in our challenge this past week. Your "heart" cards were awesome!

Here's what you need to do to participate:

1) Create a NEW card for the challenge. You are more than welcome to combine challenges!

2) You may use any stamps, but if you've got some La-La Land Craft stamps, why not show them some love?!

3) Link your project to Mr. Linky below by Monday, February 15th at 11:59pm PST (GMT-8).
4) Be sure to link directly to the blog or gallery post featuring your entry!

5) If you post your card on Splitcoaststampers, please use keyword: LLWWC25. If you are also using a stamp from La-La Land Crafts, please use BOTH keywords LLLC and LLWWC25.

6) Link back to this challenge in your blog or gallery post.

Mardi Gras Party - MOJO125

Ok, on the heels of the SAINTS WINNING THE SUPERBOWL, I just had to make a Mardi Gras card. I got these Freebie images from Pixie Dust Studios. I used some crystals to add some sparkle. Sorry once again for a crappy photo, but now my battery is dead in my camera and I had to scan this card. Well, anyone who uses dimension on their cards knows how hard it is to get a good scan. The blue-ish cardstock is really a pretty purple-periwinkle color, because Mardi Gras is all about Purple, Gold & Green! Anyhoo, my CREATIVE MOJO was working and my photography mojo wanted to play, but my camera was having no part of that. :O(
Image was colored with Stampin' Up! markers. So that's my card for MOJO MONDAY #125. Thanks for looking.

Friends - CSCC65 & SS89

Well, it's midnight now, the Saints won the Superbowl and I am posting my last card of the day.
This one was created with a kit I bought from Peachy Cheap - Basic Grey Granola. This kit came with stamps, rubons, pattern paper and brads. I used a little of everything on this card. There are quite a few rubons. The sentiment is a rub on as are the little flowers and leaf on the left hand side. The focal point - the flower is two stamps - one is the dark blue and the other is an off white to show the petals of the flower. The background for the flower is a rubon. The heart is a little charm from an old bracelet.
This card fits 2 challenges: 1. Cinema Saturday Creative Challenge #65 (with a heart) & 2. Sketch Saturday #89.

Thanks for looking.

PCP Cuttlebug-ers#59 - Crayon Resist

Welcome to the 59th PCP Cuttlebug-ers Challenge. Today I have chosen the crayon resist technique. You can see a tutorial on how this technique is accomplished on Mel Stampz blog.
I used the Victoria embossing folder and a metallic gold crayon. I embossed the white cardstock, then I rubbed the crayon all over the raised areas. Then I used my ColorBox Cat's Eyes in heliotrope and lime. I smudged them all over the raised areas. Once I accomplished the color pattern I wanted I went back with a soft cloth and wiped away excess ink. Then I took my heat gun and heated the crayon (not too long), just so it melts a little and leaves a nice glossy sheen. Then I used the same inks and stamped my flowers. I used the same inks to smudge the white cardstock behind my flowers and rubbed the heliotrope on the edges. I punched half of the 1" circle from the image cardstock. I punched a circle with my 1" circle punch. Then I edged it with purple and added my rub-on. Then I punched several more of the circles and layered them to raise my sentiment. Lastly I added the purple checked ribbon and little purple heart brads.

For my card I used the sketch at Taylored Expressions.

No horsing around... Prairie Fairy Friday Sketches#5

While browsing around the Prairie Fairy Digital Stamps site, I found this link to their blog and the Prairie Fairy Friday Sketch challenge #5. This is of course another of their adorable images. I added googly eyes and a little metalic heart to his chest. Another of my made up sentiments.
Valentine, No horsing around... I love You! Happy Valentine's Day!
Now, I've been sitting here all darn day. So now I need to get up and go fix me some brunlupper (breakfast, lunch, & supper). :O)
