happy birthday - TSTC56 & CCT162

happy birthday - Twisted Sketches Twisted Card Challenge #56 - yellow. For my card I used Bashful Blue cardstock and a scrap from some decorative paper and a scrap piece of vellum. Since the challenge was to use the sketch and incorporate yellow I added 2 layers of So Saffron border punched, one on top of the other. Then I added a piece of So Saffron grosgrain ribbon and tied a bow. The stamp is from SU Perfect Punches (although I didn't perfectly punch mine). I added a little clear crystal I colored with SU marker in Pink Passion. I smudged a little SU Marina Mist ink around the edges of my scalloped sentiment.
Cute Card Thursday Challenge #162 is to use another sketch or create your own. I used the Twisted Card Sketch for this challenge. It's just a CAS style I wanted to play with it.

Growing In Pots - SP

Hello and Welcome! Today I am featuring another of SoftPencil Designs digital images Growing in Pots. Such a 'sweet' image and so fun to color. I have also featured some SU products. I matted the In Color dsp with Cajun Craze cardstock. I used some of the Dusty Durango grosgrain dotted ribbon with a silver brad. The tag was stamped using Friends Never Fade #120618 in Tangerine Tango. I colored the image with my Stampin' Write Markers then I added some SU Crystal Effects to the pots.

If you'd like to see what the rest of the DT has to offer today you can find their links in my side bar. Hope you had a Blessed Easter and are looking forward to Mother's Day, Father's Day and Summer!

Watering My Garden - SoftPencil Designs

This card was created using the sketch at CardPatterns challenge #111.
I got my images and my weeks mixed up, so what you will see on the rest of the SoftPencil DT members' blogs will be a little different from mine. But this is STILL a SoftPencil Design image. I colored her with my Yasumoto watercolors. I have used Stampin' Up! dsp, dies, punches and stamps as well. Please be sure and check out the other DT members creations and leave them some love. You can find their links in my sidebar. Also pop in on Elizabeth's (SoftPencil Designs) too. I know you will love all her sweet little images. Now available on t-shirts, kids and baby clothes and art prints through her Redbubble shop :)

Up, Up, Up, and away! - JFF

Today I will feature two cards I created using the Blossom Petals Punch. Above you see hot air balloons. This idea was a brainstorm of my gal pal Deb Segler's and mine. We do work well together!!!  Love Ya Debbiekins. :O)
Cardstock:
Marina Mist
Whisper White
Crumb Cake
Pear Pizzaz
DSP:
Greenhouse Gala #117167
Punches:
Blossom Petals Punch #121808
Decorative Label Punc (tag) #120907
Build a Cupcake Punch (clouds) #121807
Ink:
Marina Mist
Basic Black
Ribbon:
Bashful Blue Stitched Grosgrain
Accessories:
Build a Brad
Dimensionals

For the card I matted Marina Mist cardstock on Crumb Cake. Then I punched the five large petals with the Blossom Petals Punch. Then I punched 5 of the smallest leaves and trimmed them down to make the baskets. I took the Basic Black Stampin' Write Marker and drew my lines and wrote the sentiment. Balloons are raised up with Dimensionals.

*******************************************************************************
Here, as you can see I used the Blossom Petals Punch again. The neat thing about this punch is it's versatility!
My card base is Dusty Durango. I love it!!! I embossed with the Tulips Frame embossing folder first.
Ink:
Stampin' Write Markers
Dusty Durango
Cameo Coral
Apricot Appeal
Pear Pizzaz
Cardstock:
Dusty Durango
Whisper White
Pear Pizzaz

For this flower you will have to stamp & punch out of Whisper White cardstock:
8 large solid petals
8 large open leaves
6 small heart shaped petals
1 flower center (round)

Stamps & punch out of Pear Pizzaz cardstock:
2 large open petals

I used the markers to apply color to the stamps and I stamped the pieces. Then the assembly is basic. I started with a spare piece of cardstock cut with the circle portion of the punch for my base. Then I layered the 8 large solid petals first all the points touching one another. Then I layered the 8 large open leaves starting with a Dimensional adhesive. And I carried on with each layer the same way, ending with the circle flower on top which I adhered with Tombow. The two large open petals for the leaves were places on the back of the flower as the last thing. Then I used the Tombow to adhere the flower to the Dusty Durango which I had already embossed with the Tulips Frame.

I hope you enjoyed these two cards and hope you will try your hand at creating something similar. If you do, I'd love to see it. So please leave your link in the comments.

happy birthday! - Twisted!

This is my card for the Twisted Sketches - Twisted Cards#54 - the "twist" this week is to make it BRIGHT! Well it doesn't get any brighter than primaries. So I used Stampin' Up! dsp from the Ice Cream Parlor collection. The little flowers are stickers I raised up on Dimensionals. The bird and the branches are from the Stampin' Up! 2 Step Bird Punch. I cut multiple branches and used them to make the nest. Then I punched the bird from some of the Play Date dsp and out of Wild Wasabi cardstock, I punched the wings. My sentiment is computer generated and punched with the Modern Label Punch. I added one of the buttons from the Ice Cream Parlor accessories pack.

Easter Blessings - CPS110

Easter Blessings - was created using the Springtime Vintage dsp #121782 and the Wild Wasabi, Very Vanilla and Sahara Sand cs with the Crosses of Hope stamp#120567 which I colored with my Stampin' Write Markers in Wild Wasabi, Baha Breeze and Marina Mist. The sentiment is from the Easter Blossoms set. Once I had colored my cross I spritzed it with a little rubbing alcohol with some of the Champagne Mist Shimmer Paint #116806 mixed in to give it a little sparkle (hard to see in photo but believe me, a little goes a LONG way). Ribbon is Wild Wasabi as well.

This card was created with sketch #110 from CardPatterns Sketches.

Happy Birthday For You! - PCPCUTTLEBUG-ERS Challenge #108

Ok, I've been taking it easy on you all so this time I challenge you to create some sort of a pocket card with something that can be put in or taken out of the pocket (a sentiment, a flower, a gift card, etc). I have a friend named Holly that lives in Arkansas. Holly created a video tutorial of a pocket card she made. I followed her tutorial and tweeked it a bit. You can use Holly's and my pocket or you can create one of your own.

I used my 'bug' to cut the big flower on the right face of my card. The smaller flowers I punched. I used a variety of Stampin' Up! dsp from the Play Date collection. I stamped my For You sentiment with Real Red ink (stamp is from the SAB set Punch Bunch). I used my Stampin' Write Markers in Daffodil Delight, Real Red and Pacific Point to ink up the Happy Birthday stamp from the same set. My finished card is 4.25" x 5.5". The dotted layer is 4" x 5.25". The striped layer is 3.75" x 5". The pocket started out at 3.75" x 5" and was folded on the diagonal from the center point of the left side to the right top and bottom corners.

I hope you will join me for this little challenge and remember to have fun!

Please tag your photos: pcpcuttlebug, pcpcuttlebug108

Below is my sample.

CAS-ing Beate -- JFF

Stampin' Up! Sahara Sand and Confetti White cardstock
Stampin' Up! Finial Press Embossing Folder (#115963)
Stampin' Up! Stamp Set - Live, Laugh, Love (#117114)
Stampin' Up! Ink Pad - Early Espresso (#119670), Whisper White (#101780)
The Sahara Sand cs is embossed then inked in Whisper White. When dry, I sanded the raised areas. I think I may need an ink refill for my white pad as Beate's card looked more like wood than mine. I still LOVE my card. I used a piercing tool and pierce the perimeter of my Sahara Sand cs. Then I hand stitched all the way around.

God bless you - JFF

No challenge on this one, well maybe just to color the image. No it's NOT a stamp but a paper cut bird I snipped from the Stampin' Up! DSP collection Botanical Garden (#121783). I colored him using my blender pen and Stampin' Up! Stampin' Write Markers - Wild Wasabi, Marina Mist and Earlyt Espresso. I squiggled a little ink on a claer stamping block and used my blender pen to color in the image. Cleaning the block between colors. My ribbon is from the clearance section of my Stampin' Up! web site, it's Pacific Point. The sentiment is stamped in Marina Mist and is from the Stampin' Up! Crosses of Hope set (120567). The background dsp is also from the Botanical Garden collection. Both the matte of the bird and the bird itself are popped up with Stampin' Dimensionals (#104430).

Thanks for stopping in today! Hope you like my little birdie.

bring on the cake! - PPC-CC54

bring on the cake - PicturePerfectCreations-ColorCombo#54 - Basic Black, Melon Mambo, Blushing Bride, and Whisper White. I've used more of that discontinued dsp from Stampin' Up! I love this paper and I am going to use up every little smidgeon until it is all gone. So I hope you won't get tired of seeing it!
The stamps used on this card are from Bring on the Cake, Crazy for Cupcakes, Sweet Scoops and Perfect Punches. I've also incorporated several SU punches and a portion of the Top Note die. The reason the sentiment isn't showing up so well is because I stamped it then I heat embossed it with clear embossing powder and the light is reflecting off of it.

Hope you enjoyed my card and do check out Picture Perfect Creations - Color Combos. I won last week!!!

It isn't spring here yet where I live as far as the weather is concerned but Spring is in the air and on the roadsides as the bluebonnets and Indian paintbrushes are showing their color. Stampin' Up! has many floral stamps and several floral punches as well. So if you need anything to complete your Easter & Mother's Day projects just give me a buzz or shoot me an e-mail. I love what I do and I enjoy sharing it with others.

got fish? = CTD135

This week at ColorThrowDown #135 the combo is black, red, cream and yellow. I CAN handle this! Unfortunately for  you this is a retired Stampin' Up! set. But aren't these kitties just too stinkin' cute! I stamped them in Basic Black ink and then I used the Water Color Pencils #101879 with my Blender Pen #102845 to soften the colors. It's kind of hard to see but I studded the 'big cat's' colar with some little red and gold stickers. I used the Top Note die #113463 to cut the Basic Black cardstock matte. I matted the whole scene on Cherry Cobbler cardstock. The tag for my handwritten sentimen was created using a portion of the large petal of the Blossom Petals Extra Large Punch. Then I ran the side of my Cherry Cobbler marker all around the edge of the tag.

Taste the Rainbow -----

Starting in the top left hand corner -
1. Stamp set The Nicest Things #117036 & Easter Blossoms #122057.
2.To the right of that is Blueberry Crisp dsp #117395 & Play Date dsp #117168.
3.Next to that one on it's right; the black and gold is stamp set Timeless Treasures #118748 and Basic Black cardstock.
4.To the front and on the left I matted Cherry Cobbler 5" square cardstock on top of 5.25" square light grey and the light grey on top of a 5.5" square piece of palest yellow. The stamp used on it was Create A Cupcake #121915.
5. Cherry Cobbler & Whisper White cardstock. I punched the flower with the Blossom Petals Extra - Large Punch using Springtime Vintage dsp #121782.

Below is a very simple card I designed using Crumb Cake cardstock (Sahara Sand or River Rock would also work for this) and I stamped from Hostess Set #118474 using Early Espresso ink. I added a piece of Chocolat Chip stitched grosgrain ribbon I pinch pleated twice then adhered to the cardstock.

These last 2 were created using RETIRED stamps from Stampin' Up! but they were just tooo darn cute for me not to use them. They were both stamped in Basic Black ink then handcolored using both SU Watercolor Pencils #101879 and SU Watercolor Crayons #120949.
NOTE* on the got milk? card I used a portion of the Blossom Petals Punch (largest petal) to make my sentiment tag.

These were all created in a 24 hour period at a sleepover at my gal pal Deb Segler's house. All of these were designed by me and I'd love to help you CASE them. If you have any questions about any of my cards or you are in dire need of any of the stamps, punches, inks, or cardstock I used in their creation, please feel free to e-mail me.
